Hi all, I've gone ahead and picked up the chaintech AV710 soundcard as recommended by you chaps on these forums. Tonight it arrived and so now I must set it up.

I've read that only one of the chips is of a super high quality and the others are mediocre at best.

My setup is a pair of stereo speakers and a set of headphones + mic. I don't need the full 7.1 functionality... Currently I have the speakers and headphones plugged into a splitter on the output of my current sound setup.

As a sidenote I have a CoolerMaster Musketeer which requires an audio input. Normally this works by the use of a backplate that takes in the outputted sound from the soundcard and has an output socket next to it. Could I use one of the other channels (eg rear surround) to power the visual unit?

Any other suggestions on setting up the card for optimal quality would be appreciated.

thanks!
