I just got a request from Boomy regarding the modding of these HPs as he was unable to find a concise "this is what I did" post.
So here is what I did
As for the T50rp - here is the basic premise
1. mass load the cups - I did this by rolling 4 "tubes" of blutak/molding clay and pressing it down into the bottom of the cups ( leave space on either side of the rolled tube so as not to diminish the internal volume too much )
2. use cotton balls / polyfill on either side of tube
I now added a cork farme for further cup stability and some mass loading - essentially a gasket 5mm+ wide that fits inside the cup and presses up against the sides.
3. damping next
a. thick, dense felt donut
b. reticulated foam ( good old green dish scourer ) as a central puck
c. layer of thin dense "ish" felt on top of that.
4. driver baffle - filled entire thing with latex based bathtub sealant ( beware of the socket for the cable )
5. filled in the lip of the baffle with speaker sealant - bitumen type caulking (blutak would work)
6. added reflex dot to central square of driver
7. tuned bass port with electrician tape on the outside - left the internal damping intact.
When I get some time, I will dig out a feeble image I did take - did not document the entire process as it was an evolution. I will also try and find smeggy's "what he did" and link it in this post to help the search tool find it all.
Found a 100 pages ago !!!! - my gad somefolk have a lot to say

I lied hehe
Bitumen lining the cups to kill that plastic resonance. Nice and dead now.
Felt pad just sat in the cup to soak up random waves as they float about.
Reflex dot that won't do much given the cup design which has one build into the rear of the cup seen in the previous pics.
Filling the baffle plate braces with epoxy putty to mass damp it a bit and add some strength. Plastered liquid nails over that.
Bass is a little less now but tighter and considerably less tubby and boxy. It'll never be a big hairy bass monster as the driver is pretty tiny but what is there is nice, goes pretty deep and sounds good. It still doesn't have any major flaws anywhere and is a smooth sound with a nicely neutral top end. Efficiency is fairly good too.
I didn't want to get too extreme on it's ass this early into the relationship, time will tell how well we mesh, for now she's very pleasing indeed
