amaroK and RME

i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for setting up an RME DIGI 8/96 in linux.

i heard that amaroK is a good program, i have quite a bit of music and want to methodically sort it all by albums and get excellent quality (this is headfi) from the whole set up. it says that i have no engines installed and the card is coming on thursday, thought i would see how to get it ready!

I pretty much use amaroK or XMMS.. but I also have all my music sorted into subdirectories. if your music is tagged right, but not sorted.. i'd suggest using amarok. (though the thing that auto gets art from amazon.com kidna sucks)

my question was more or less how to set it up to get 24bit since all i see is 16 and make sure its bit perfect out to the analog outs.
