Very interesting. I could not get my D-33 to play anything very well, although I was impressed with it. I hope to snatch another one soon. Also interesting was your comment on the D-2 being noisy. To me the D-2 was the smoothest of all the older Sony's I've tried. I slightly preferred its sound to the D-33. I think a big part of this is the condition of the players when we get them. Whoever sold the D-2 I got kept really good care of it, and while it will skip every once in a while, it certainly doesn't keep me from enjoying it, while the D-33 was pretty much unusable. Anyway, I'm glad you like the 33, especially considering you didn't spend much to get it!

Hey Chris, well, i'm glad you can enjoy your D2! Hehe, it did sound great for that minute that it actually ran fine for. The D33 seems to be in the same vein as the D2 though. It's a great unit and it has definitely tamed the Grado's brightness factor and made them thoroughly enjoyable. The noise factor for my unit seems to come from the player being defective, something is wrong with the cd transport. Oh well, can't have everything
