These are my two current favorites of the season: grapefruit and oranges.

My two favorites regardless of season: grapes and mandarin oranges.

My answer was more possibly closer to headphone related than any other that I could think of, so neener neener, weiner head.

Alright, I will add that I really like the taste of Strawberry and Banana together (music-related pronunciation: banananaaaaah). Somehow, it's like a completely different taste to me.

I would say rasberries and peaches if I thought berries were fruit, but I don't, so I say peaches and grapes -- muscatel grapes, or whatever those really big, dark dark blue ones are with the pits. Also grapes are nice because they include raisins AND wine...can't beat the versatility. (except with perhaps the tomato)

Babcock Peach. An old heirloom variety white peach that smells like perfume and is so delicate that when you pick it it will bruise. Impossible to ship and only found in a few backyard orchards. Nearly extinct. I have two trees for making jam.

John River nectarine. Another very old nearly extinct variety. Truly nectar of the gods.

All the tree fruit you buy in the stores has been bred and devoloped for shelf life, color or other characteristics that have little to do with flavor. Thanks for allowing me my little rant.

Ohelo berries (pies, jam)
Mountain Apples (straight)

Don't know what these are? You must not be from Hawaii.

Honorable Mention:
Hops & Barley.

P.S. I like Korean Pears especially while being fed by a Korean girl.

I agree with timoteous, nothing beats a perfect white peach straight from the tree. We actually have a few at an orchard right next to my house in Connecticut of all places...I would not have thought they would be able to grow so far North, but they seem to be able to tough it out.

Im sorry, but NOTHING beats a nice big CALIFORNIA orange on a hot summer day.

Distant second would be either a grapefruit or banana only because of the nutritional value. I am allergic to many types of fruits so some fruits I would like to eat I cant.
