Does the $25 chaintech that's been getting so much praise need to go through a complicated setup to improve the sound over what came in my Dell 4500?

Does it have RCA jacks on it that can go right to the RCAs on my headphone amp?

Also, should it be plug and play w/ a Dell system that was new in '03?

Thanks, The Grateful Fred. AKA "Fred Zeppelin"

No, you its sounds pretty good with just a normal install. but there is a very nice guide on here with pictures of how to do it right.

no RCA jacks, but you can just get a mini -> RCA cable

it should work in any pci slot.

Fred,

A Canadian store in Vancouver, BC called NCIX has these cards on sale for US$16.31, plus shipping. I have bought quite a few items from them and things worked out smoothly.

This is the AV710 offer page. Sale ends on Tuesday Feb 8th.

I have one of those cards, and am going to install it today.

Update,

The sale price is gone from the website - I think they sold too many.
