I can't open the attachment here at home, so I have to write this from my memory. Anyway: Ultrasone has sent me a press release with some news (AES convention in Munich), according to which they have improved their surround-technology, which is called S-Logic, now. They are also going to release a new headphone with this technology - I think the model number mentioned was HFI-650. I couldn't find corresponding information on www.ultrasone.de yet, though.

Another press release, this time from M3C (www.m3c-berlin.de), a multimedia-distributor located in Berlin/Germany, informed about two new soundcards from ESI (formerly EGO SYS) - the Waveterminal 192L & 192X. Both seem to be made for sound professionals rather than gamers, because no game-3d-apis were mentioned, and both were claimed to have headphone amps (sharing one jack of their 6-channel-outputs). The 192X, which retails for 299 Euro over here, is the super-pro version with two mono symmetrical/differential analog inputs for line or mic, whereas the 192L for 229 Euro has two conventional (=asymmetrical) analog stereo inputs. Both carry 24bit/192kHz-dacs and -adcs and have an optical 24bit/96kHz-output. In addition, both can be expanded with a MIDI interface, optical 24/96-input and electrical/coaxial S/P-DIF-i/o in "192 kHz quality" by an additional bracket retailing here for 69 Euro.

Greetings from Munich!
