Download these drivers:
http://szgwbn.mydrivers.com/sound/Cr...ewYearv1.2.exe

Follow onscreen, make sure you select Audigy/EMU-DSP series.

Click install.

When you get to "Install PAX blah blah for games" as the only option, stop.

In device manager, update your sound card driver and click have disk etc, go mto path C:\PAX-NewYear\Drivers\wdm then click continue.

Restart if asked, and then please report back what your driver says.

Its a no-go.

The driver manually installs fine but you cannot get it to play anything. It appears to play but there is no sound. Asio is also missing, directsound tests via dxdiag play no sound either (but it appears to be correctly installed).

I've tried the full 300mb+ package too, lots of things wouldn't install (no compatible product) but mediasource did - no audio.

I haven't used a Creative consumer product in years and its good to see its the same old crappy bloatware

Did you uninstall your drivers first?

Try installing http://file2.mydrivers.com/sound/PAX-NewYear2005-AX.rar

"Please uninstall all current drives you are using, unless your system breaks down! Use PAX uninstaller to remove current PAX drivers, do not to use PAX-NewYear v1.2 uninstaller to remove the old drivers on your Operating System."

When we get this working, the 0404 will definately support EAX 4. I've asked.

Has anyone else tried it?

ok i got it to work as well, whoooooohoooooooooo

the sound is a lot better, and louder, so heed the warning of turning down ur speakers

what i have: Audigy 2 PLAIN

1. Removed, creative software, 1.2 pax drivers (via the installer), folders, reg entries

2. restarted, started audigy x 2005 installer, chose the "audigy/audigy 2" (NOTE: i think this is where it gets confusing, i selected the 2nd a bunch of times because the "hardmod" scrambled with the unknown characters fooled me into thinking it meant softmod a2>zs, anyways..."

3. Chose the first option, the pack and the 5.12s since i had the 1.2s before

4. the software screen pops up first, then the creative installer, like gamergod says, DO NOT press next on the non creative screen. PRESS Next on the creative screen and keep the audigy 2 and the mediasource selected, go thru the installation, until the creative pop up finally closes. (should end with a registration thing, annoying i know)

5. THEN, press next on the remaining software screen to update the software u just installed. It should install flawlessly. Restart

6. Enjoy, modify the startup stuff so the bloatware doesnt pop up lol

Try what he said! You will need the following download.

I don't think it could wreck your computer lol. I'm going to buy an Audigy and take my 0404 back, as these improve drastically the sound quality of the Audigy and I can use it with my HTPC.

Regarding EAX theoretically yes and yes!

Thats what I did to the letter and it didn't work.
Besides, he has an Audigy.

The drivers are are hacked together Creative orginals, theres nothing more than some inf hacking there I feel. I have to question if any has an EMU 0404/1212?

I'm giving up now, I'm only playing out of curiosity. I don't want or need EAX, I only ever play HL2 engine games and the sound is fine as it is

Thanks for the tip though, if it had worked it would be neat.

Thanks Asmo, you'll be pleased to hear that I'm in 2 minds about returning the 0404. It all depends on whether the Audigy 2 ZS can sound as good as the 0404 with these drivers, as every report has suggested that sound quality has improved loads.

Regarding your question, huh?!

If you don't want me here just say and I'll leave Asmo.

Was just wondering if you came here looking for answers about headphones or just computer soundcards? Lots of good info here, those drivers will not perform any mircale, the reason the E-MU soundcards are superior is the hardware on the board, not software or drivers.
