Very similar to my experiences with the UM3X and the Westone 4. Have you heard these earlier Westone models, how do the UM30 and W40 compare? I ended up picking the Westone 4 back then for its more audiophile like sound, but I think the UM3X would have been the better pick. Its definitely voiced for the stage so better suited to live band musicians. I'd be curious to know whether the UM50 has a more extended treble?
@daerron : I don't have previous Westone models, but we had a discussion in W-series thread where people suggested W40 was an improvement over W4R. In terms of audiophile quality, people have different definition where some look for a more bright analytical sound while W40 is warmer, smoother, more laidback, while still clear and detailed. Regarding UM Pro 50, I should have a review sample soon and will provide my impressions in comparison to Pro 30, W40, and other IEMs in my review collection.
