Probably the most concise review I have read lately, thank you.
Where would you place these next to the Earsonics Onyx?

Thank-you so much!
Well, there is a plethora of ways to replay music and still be correct. This (maybe) goes against previous ways of thinking, but that’s how I see/hear it? Reason being as both are correct and contain attributes which define a rock/metal/OST sensibility! Both doing many styles of playback, while still parlaying basic fundamentals of music replay correctly. I am primarily a rock/metal/OST listener. So within that arena the EarSonics bestows a more heavy handed and more real bass playback. The character of the bass is more lifelike. Still it’s more money in the end.

That in itself does not make the Bax ever any less. The Bax is showing a more even handed expression of music playback. Neither is wrong or right. They are both right in a way, being they are even, correct and complete. Still the ONYX is showing a virtual reality of exact bass playback. The Bax is showing less bass detail but then again doing more in a balanced way which gets listeners possibly a more broad and even handed approach. Nether is wrong or right, simply another take on fabulous! Both 5 star. It just depends on what you want, your style.........and what you are into?

Also what truly are your goals? Do you want more bass texture? Both IEMs provide a giant soundstage, a correct rendition of musical events.........are well rounded and fast.

I'm getting pretty tired of these companies calling these drivers electrostatic.
Electrostatic drivers need a powerful energizer to apply a static charge to the diaphragm.
An electret driver (which this one has) has a semi-permanent charge and can be used with normal devices.

Here is the thing. Everyone is naming these drivers the same. They are all called EST drivers. So? We do have a consistent and repeatedly correct communication as to what this is in this usage for an IEM. It may not be what’s in STAX headphones, still semantics being what they are, it works, as people truly know what they are getting. They know the sound and we have predictable commerce taking place here. No one is upset here.

What a wonderful written and positive review! Besides that, so many pros at such an affordable price... it almost got me tempted (to buy) this morning

Thank-you for the kind words!

The TRN Bax really seems like something special? I’ve tried to be objective.....going and doing lots of side by side tests.....and I always end up with the same results. It’s not perfect, but the FR maybe is?

TRN has been long derided, so you've broken the barrier and chronicled how they've stepped up. They've got their tuning working well. The aesthetics are pleasing. After I heard the VX90 Pro, I realized they're in this game to win. I thought it was astute how you described this as having the sound of full on headphones which beats reading charts and graphs. You cut through with deft prose, not just numbers.

Thank-you for the complements.

It’s true......there is a value-aspect to the Bax that shows professional tuning is in place.......the tuning is real. All of a sudden it is underlined and TRN themselves directed the effort. I can only speak of the product that I have come in direct contact with........that there are fundamental reasons for success, I assume? That this does have scientific principles, that they didn’t just get lucky! I’m not sure how much influence (an included) scientific graph would create, maybe something extra to wonder about? When all that matters is final sound.

Great review! How would you say the details and soundstage compare to Moondrop Variations (especially them if you've heard them) or Blessing 2?

Waiting for my BAX to arrive early this week. Chose the 4.4 mm connection. Found the link to the TRN store on AliExpress
and ordered the 3.5 and 2.5 adapters as well for another $12-----

Received BAX two days ago and have been burning in and listening------I say Redcarmoose review is right on.
Very BOLD dynamic sound--I have never had an EST driver set before and the highs are on a totally different level to anything else I have heard---
still need to burn in a bit to become a bit more cohesive but I can tell these are VERY special and already put anything else
I have to shame as far as soundstage and overall presentation---just big, bold and dynamic.😋😎

Received the BAX yesterday. Seems to be a very good match with the N8ii..
Voices sound extremely natural, smooth, the bass is precise. Mids are not very much forward, but also sound natural.
I usually use my VE Phoenix and EXT, but for this price, there's nothing missing at all.
