Very informative and comprehensive review Brooko! And excellent writing also! Nice to see how you have both enthusiasm and objectivity since you are also involved with Trinity's product development.
Way to go! Thank you....look forward to your impressions on the Master series!
Thanks gents. @HiFiChris - Boy thats a tough question - especially when the mid-range is very similar, yet also quite different with the vividness (Delta being more mellow), I'd call bass speed extremely similar. Delta gives impression of being slightly slower - but I'm pretty sure that's the mid-range difference more than anything. And I'm sorry - what do you mean by "aridness". Neither has overly dry or flat bass (even with the purple filters).
@earfonia - Bram, that's where graphs can be a little misleading - eh? Other IEMs with a 5-6kHz dip - Oriveti Primacy, Fidue A83 (its also a large dip), Trinity Atlas, TFZ series, FLC8S (depending on filter), and even the Campfire Nova. Some of them are quite small - but others are at least 10dB. If uou look at the fact that the Sabre also has a big peak immediately before - that's why it looks like such a big dip. It doesn't stop it sounding really excellent - the same as the other above IEM's I mentioned. Let me know if you want comparative graphs (I can now apply old measurements to new calibration).
@voxie - I wouldn't be worried. (1) Trinity have such good customer service, they'd replace if you wanted to. (2) It's more than likely to be one batch, and the fix is really easy. No issues since I glued them
Got it Paul! Yes, sometimes graph doesn't always relate well with the perceived tonality. At higher frequency I found the distance of the IEM to the microphone may cause significant differences to the result. Thanks for the clarification.
Thanks for your reply, Paul. Probably somewhat faster than the Delta V-II doesn't sound bad, and if I recall correctly, Bob also commented some time ago that the Sabre has got a quicker bass than the 2nd generation of the Delta. "Aridness"/"Tightnes", as as opposed to a rather soft bass. For example, some headphones/IEMs have got a fast bass that is however somewhat on the softer side (DN-2000J and LCD-X for example, both have got a pretty fast but also somewhat soft bass).
I unfortunately find the Delta V-II (purple damped) to have a somewhat too muddy, soft and slow bottom end for my taste, even for a dynamic-driver woofer based in-ear, and was just trying to figure out whether I really need the Sabre or not. I guess I might probably give it a try one day.

How would you compare the Sabre (long purple) to the Delta V-II (damped purple) in terms of bass speed and aridness?
