No offence, but that's more of a brief opinion than a review. What source equipment did you use and what genres of music did you try? Without any detailed opinions on how good they sound (I don't own the DT770's, I have no idea how they sound) it's hard to gauge anything. They do seem to be highly regarded though.
Yes it was quick because I'm not going to go over what others have already said. They are like a movie theater on your head.
I got the stock HM5 pads, not velour. I heard it changes the sound too much.
Source was Toneport UX2. FLAC files / MP3/ Youtube/ Trailers....everything. It does everything better than my DT 770's. I would swap them on and off and I never wanted to put my DT's on again after these.
Mentioning FLAC for these is interesting. I need to get a group of owners together to test something. I notice with the Pro 80, when you listen to FLAC, and tune some EQ to your need, a shimmer of White Noise lays pretty thickly in some recordings and becomes a bit tensive.
Well...I don't have any sort of noise in mine. I am not able to EQ anything because my source is the UX2 toneport. Well...I'd need to EQ the song player itself. But the cans don't seem to need any sort of EQing from what I can hear unless you want to tame some of the highs. Which I'm fine with actually. They sound more like speakers to me than headphones.
