Tried my friend's unit and I agreed with what you have said!

I have been using them for over an year. Great IEM for the price, good service too. My left channel failed after 10 months, send them over and they repaired, shipped it back for free. When they returned it they used a different, more flexible cable. The original cable had microphonics, not with the replaced one.
