Fit is also the challenge that I observed when testing this IEM in the store. I had no problem, but one of the staffs at the store couldn’t get it to seal correctly regardless of the tip choice.

Regarding the staging, I wonder if it would improve if you add a 10k dip around 5 to 10db, Q value 2.0 via EQ?

those comparison plots make it super easy to consider the parts involved… too easy; people may forget to read! (wink.raw)
kudos (great work)

Because I’m in no location that make a real audition possible, I purchased the IE 600 set based on similar reviews (excellent, btw). However and relative to the all-reported ‘V’ tuning, the reported amount of extended bass and air, I had to be suspect of quality of the mids and vocals delivered to my ears. One word… miraculous!!

Magnificent review, I must say. You have a real flair of delivering your impressions as truly as possible. Commendable!

@nymz Terrific! Thank you for the time, words, and dissection of your IE 600 experience! And a big thank you for the detailed recommendations—many readers here will get a lot of value out of the combinations you have chosen, and the "recommended for these types of listeners..." approach.

Thanks for the support everyone! Warms my heart.

I have to disclose that despite my very short time with the unit (due to vacation and logistical reasons), I tried to make it worth. I will have soon a personal unit that I've been waiting for a while and will update the review with more info if I feel the need to.

To @Sennheiser, a big thank you to all the team and it was my honor and pleasure. Waiting on the next big hit!

@o0genesis0o Sorry, I did not try that or whatsoever EQ during my take. I can try it later once I get my personal unit!

The Underdog comparison speaks to me on a personal level as I own the Olina and was lucky enough to get a Vernus.

In the ocean of mid-fi IEMs, the IE600 is the IEM I want the most, but dat price is a bit too much for me.

I'll make my own comparisons if I get this set (Probably around fall.)

A tough decision as I'm also looking at HBB's Kinda Lava which is cheaper than the IE600.

Wonder if Sennheiser will have these on sale during Black Friday?

Is it worth the jump from these to unique melody mest mk2? In terms of mostly technical performance like soundstage, imaging and details.

@gourab1995 from memory, these aspects are better on mk2, yes. If it's worth... Well, that's up for you to value. How far would you go for a little bit more?

IE600 has more natural timbre and coherency but MMk2 is a step above for my library due to tuning and bass impact.

I value tonality, balance, imaging and soundstage in that order. I have etymotic er2xr they have been the go to tonality although they could do with a bit more air, which I get fron the ie600. Of course the ie600 is much more technically competent in other aspects as well. Thing is I got "wowed" from going from 20 or even 50 usd iems to the etymotic. But there wasnt a wow factor from er2xr to ie600 despite them being such a good iem (although with the correct tips they are pretty wow now). So im thinking is it really worth owning mest mk2, did you get "wowed"? I think everything on the ie600 is good with swapped tips. Originally i had found the treble spicy.

Personally i feel Sennheiser ie600 would be value for money if they were priced at 500-550 ish

My rule of thumb is that when in doubt, save the money. If you are happy with IE600, just walk in the direction of the sun.

If IE600 didn't wow you going from Ety (great iem btw), Mest Mk2 might not wow you when going from IE600. It's way more balanced and closer to Ety than the Sennheiser is and also more technical, at the cost of a less natural feeling, but again, depends on what you value and the dimishing returns are very real.
