Nice review! I have been hesitating for too long in purchasing a headphone amp from Schiit. Like you said, "hey it's only $149"! I think its time to pull the trigger and make the purchase - now I have this feeling I am going to end up owning their Folkvangr haha

With many of us the next more expensive thing will be the final solution to audio nirvana. Its not always true. This little low cost amp is proof to me that good listening can be had with a low cost amp. Yes the other things matter in the setup, dac, headphones, recordings...a great amp for a decent price!

Recently bought a stash of 16 6CG7's and tried them in the Vali 2 + I have...all good.

I listen with this amp daily. The 6CG7 tube family are really very exceptional with this amp.
Added a socket saver and have been rotating thru the 16 tubes I snagged online.
Lots of fun.
Driving a set of D8000 Pros...its a solid 9+ at times.

Both the Vali 2+ and 2++ are excellent amps.
After reviewing several amp lately the Vali 2+ is still up there in my top amps to use.
Price and performance are stellar IMO.
Weeks of 6CG7's and back to the stock 6BZ7A...its like 9.9 here with ADX 5000/Soekris 2541 High Gain.
Simply awesome listening experience!

@adydula Steve Guttenberg compared The Vali 2+ to the more than twice as expensive Jotunheim. He said that with the Jotunheim, you are listening to the music. With the Vali 2+, you are in the music.
