Very nice review, Nick!  As an owner of RTi1, I totally understand and agree with your assessment of the RTi1.  It is perfect for some genres, but somewhat lacking for some.  This is what prompted me to be on a lookout for something else that can complement the RTi1.

And it looks like RTi2 is worth the shot.

mmm.....the RTi1 was a blind purchase for me. Flew to HK, almost got lost finding Rhapsodio. This was in 2014. The demo unit sounded superb so I got the RT1i. When I flew back home, it was just awful. The treble was piercing. So, I let it burn-in for a long, long time. Today, it sounded more like the demo unit. I love it. With the HM 901S, it doesn't sound thin to me and the bass quantity is just right. I'll probably get the version 2 at some point in the future.

Another great review Nic, enjoyed reading it and because I'm aware of how the RTi1 (had it for some months and totally recognize your description of it) and Solar (listening to it while typing this) sounds, this write up gave me a pretty clear picture of where the RTi2 stands. But besides that, I think that also people that never heard a Rhapsodio iem in their lives can get a clear picture of it's soundsignature by reading this => job well done!

@raypin, nice anecdote...glad you eventually found them and that your RTi1 came alive :)

Hey guys thanks for the comments.
@taz23 the RTi2 are indeed very similar but different. The RTi1's midrange is really beautiful, nicer than the RTi2 for acoustics and female vocals, while the RTi2 is darker and less 'glorified'. It is however more balanced and allround making them very complimentary with that similar tone precision. They are both RTi's, but in expressed in different styles (if that makes any sense).
@raypin I've indeed heard on multiple accounts that the RTi1 definitely requires burn in. I bought mine from Erik so didn't have to go through that. For me instruments tend to sound small on the RTi1 in comparison with other iems, especially electric guitars. I was using a DX90 back then, but it could be different with a 901s. I heard that is a fantastic dap btw, and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the RTi1, that upper midrange is still among the best out there and it is a great iem.
@Kerouac Erik thanks for the kind words. Now that the review is done I can also spend time with the Solar again! :)
