Excellent review of the Pinnacle P1. Thank you!
I'm still exploring the P1s myself and keep enjoying all different type of genres.
They do sound phenomenal with the CEntrance DAC/AMP combo.
It's actually the sensitivity that makes it hard to drive not the impedance. The impedance of 50 Ohms makes places it nicely in a sweet spot for impedance. The sensitivity is 96 dB / mW which is pretty low for just about any headphone.
First of all, I'd like to apologize for not replying. I didn't receive any emails letting me know of these comments, so I didn't see these until now.
@NA Blur Volume-wise, these are fine; I assumed that's where the sensitivity plays a role. However, even with plenty of volume, the sound seemed to still be lacking out of the Aune M2, which I know to be a good source. I figured that was the impedance. I could very well be wrong here though, let me know what you think.
@Ting Tiew Yik Great question! As I'm still looking for a portable amp myself at the moment, I haven't specifically tried the P1 with any. I would assume though that it would sound great with the Fiio E12, DACport Slim (mentioned before), and if you have a really tight budget, the Topping NX1 should work in a pinch. @ngoshawk likes it with the Fiio A3, that's worth looking into as well. And thanks for the feedback everyone!
