I don't think I would use these for the gym. The first time you get the MMCX connection sweaty, or snag your cable on a piece of gym equipment you will be running the risk of messing up that connection and be out two hundred bucks. I think that goes for just about anything with MMCX. Personally, the highest amount I would ever spend on gym monitors would be around fifty bucks.
Another great review, thanks! I've been a fan ever since I bought my wife a pair of M6 (we still have them) which prompted me to buy the 161s... Mee always punches above their price point (IMHO). The Pinnacle look very exciting indeed...
(and btw, aren't the Pro6 detachable MMCX?...)
I can't compare the Zen 2.0 and Pinnacle because one is an earbud and the other is an IEM. Earbuds are so fit sensitive it's almost impossible to do a definitive comparison.
@Hisoundfi I tried the Pinnacle yesterday on a meet. Confirm everything said in your review. Build quality and sound quality are not matching their price point(in the best possible way for us buyers) for what they are they are a steal. In that price range they are clearly in the top3, might be even on the top spot....amazing achievement for MEE audio.
Nice in depth review. By the looks of these cosmetically: just about everything reminds me of the Westone UM PRO Series. The braided cable, monitor housing shape, and the flipped W badge.. Westone audio inspired.
@Hisoundfi Very interested by the association with the rather analytical IBASSO . That's the kid of balance we should look for. After my disappointments with the Shure SE425, I am seriously considering these but I am worried about the association with my Fiio X5II, any thoughts ?
