Hmmm...I've already got a T90...and as @Gilly87 said it reminded him of the T90, maybe I should put my money into something else??

The HD 598...has arrived.  I'll be picking it up today, will compare with the HE350, and update the review with my observations in the near future.  Also, the BAP and HIFIMAN Leather pads will be coming in today as well. :)

Thanks for the review moedawg, luckily I jumped on the drop as the price was to good to pass. I bought the RP50 MK3's and they arrived 2 days ago but my wife got her hands on them and that was it. She reckons I have too many headphones anyway.

@HungryPanda - Thanks, for the comment.  The price is too good to pass, to tell you the truth.  Just the cable alone is worth at least half the price of the headphone.  Your wife shouldn't mind that you have this headphone as it doesn't cost very much compared to other high dollar headphones in the market.  The only issue is that if she listens to your HE350, she may take it as well! :frowning2:...  :p

What type of cable did you use to connect the iCan Pro to the Questyle?  I don't see any 1/8" jacks on the back of the amp.  BTW it was your Questyle review that was the tipping point in me buying the QP 1R and the HE-1000.  A belated thank you!

@Profbratsch - I used a RCA to 3.5mm cable.  Thanks for the comments, and hope you are enjoying your auditory combo! :)

Maybe they could make a TP special edition?

Thanks for the review. Written so everyone can understand, not just the techies.
I'll get a pair of these if Massdrop has them again to go with my HE-560s and do the BAP mod unless HiFiMan changes the pads (Hint, Hint)

Boz Scaggs has a wonderful cut on the Marantz Hi-End Audiophile Test Demo CD 2011 called "Thanks to You" which I use when auditioning phones and speakers. I tip my hat to whomever did the recording.

Also a big thanks for some of the cuts you use. Broadened my horizons.

@DownSouth - Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.  I'm all about trying to help as many people as I can, so hopefully all walks of life can understand what I'm trying to convey most whenever I write.

I would add the BAP mod for sure, as it made comfort alone rise exponentially for myself (it may be of additional comforting relief to you as well). :)

Every review I'll try to add some cuts that many may not even know existed - it broadens my horizons as well looking out for eclectic/unique/head-bopping music that I may have not listened to previously.

Enjoy your gear!

5 stars? We must have listened to very different headphones.

@SoundApprentice - Thank you for your helpful input.  Yes, 5 stars.  I have zero issue with that ranking, especially when listening with my setups.  As mentioned in the review the price point for what the headphone offers is exemplary.  What did you use to listen to the headphones?  Did you perform any of the mentioned modifications?

@moedawg140 I have posted my review on here and on my blog. By the time you buy the HE-350 and Brainwavz pads, you could have basically bough the Brainwavz HM5 which is a far superior sounding budget headphone, in my opinion. Did I mod these? No, I plan to pass them off ASAP. I don't buy headphones with the intention to mod them to make them sound good, I am paying for something to sound good already. No, I don't believe in burning in headphones. I don't think cable changes ever substantially effect the sound except when the original cable is of extremely poor quality or highly microphonic, and EQing is not my approach to reviewing headphones, because if you spend enough time fiddling with EQs you lose the original recording intention of the song and divert from the intended sound of the manufacturer. There are IEMs under $99 that will best the HE-350 in SQ. There are other headphones new and used near its price that will perform better. But opinions are subjective. You did a very thorough review, but I just feel like you over-hype these a bit, maybe because they were given to you you feel like you have to be nice. I don't know. But you mention that these remind you of the HD800, that's beyond far-fetched, I'm sorry. Like a T90, only in the sense that they both have sparkling treble otherwise they are nothing alike, to me, and I have owned both. The term "warm" cannot be used to describe these in any way. The HE-350 is incredibly U shaped to my ears. Also, 5 stars for any headphone at any price point is generous. 5 stars is perfection... Like I said, it's as if we listened to different headphones. But hey, that's audio I guess. I'm fine with being the guy that didn't like these. They look great and that's about it for me.

The angled pads will distance the treble and benefit to enlarge the soundstage, and the paper towel will smooth the treble. It's a good mod. I used a dual-pad to further distance the drivers to ears and used foam to smooth out the treble.
