Brilliant write up! I've always been a fan of JH Audio and I'm glad to see that they've continued their tradition with fantastic products...very enjoyable read!

Fantastic write-up! The only really good seal I managed to get with the loaner pair we had was using the Spinfit tips, which I told Jerry about. But then they are like an IEM version of the LCD-X. They were the first pair of IEMs I'd tried that didn't sound like IEMs.

Thanks @Currawong! I value your opinion highly. After all - you've practically guided me through my recent tube-rolling of my ALO Studio Six just through sharing in the S6 thread! I don't know if you're a big fan of IEMs - but these are truly something special to behold. They're so addictive my wifey started complaining tonight about not seeing me since Friday night, and I can't blame her! I'm SO grateful that I don't have to carry a pair of Audeze LCD-XCs and LCD-2s with me to D.C. in a couple weeks! I can leave the XCs at home (normally use those or my JH-13s on the plane). And @Jeff Y- the orange amplifier is the Ernestolone Carot One (yep, I told em about Calyx) hybrid DAC/Amp! It's available through Colleen Cardas Imports - and even has speaker taps on the back for small passive speakers. We're working on a full review for Audio360.org. In the meantime - the amp is surprisingly quiet for a hybrid and so I tried it with the Roxannes and the marriage was a beautiful one! Powerful and graceful at the same time. Still listening to the Roxannes right now!! This time w/ the new Dragonfly.

Awesome review!
What about the wait time on the Roxannes?
The reason I haven't pulled the trigger on these, was the long wait. Hoping that after it's initial intro and the rush of orders, I'd look into pickin up on these beauts at a later date.
How long from placing the order til delivery?

Great review! It's great to see someone throw some techno into the review. I've heard Recondite play on a proper system and you are spot on. I just got a pair of 846's but jeez you have really peaked my interest... Curses!

Thanks!! Gotta do it! I'm an old school Brooklyn S.T.O.R.M. raver  That Recondite record is so silky smooth and wickedly dynamic!! I'd LOVE to see them live! I'm jealous of you brother @Pepito !! I meant to include Hecq's latest masterpiece too in here - gotta look - have you heard it? His Conversions remix LP? The whole album is awesome - but check out track #8 "Thirteen Acres" by TechDiff (Remix by Hecq) - that is a serious headphone sonic acid test!!!! Through the Roxannes I swear it sounds like I'm rockin' over-ear planars! The micro and macro-dynamic detail is sickeningly precise, hard-hitting, and wide-open!! About 4:05 into the track, well... Check it out!

Very thorough Mike! I have been a huge fan of my JH16 FP's. Now I have to demo the Roxanne's...Why is it always something?...:)

Thanks @longbowbbs! I wholly appreciate the kind words brother! I know - As stated in my review: I never thought I could want for more than my JH-13 Freqphase! And: When I demo'd the Roxy's (also mentioned above, as you know) it took awhile to get a good seal - which we know is EVERYTHING when it comes to IEM frequency response! But I heard the magical potential.

I gotta tell ya - I've been on the East Coast since CanMania at Capital Audio Fest (last Thurs) so naturally I used my Roxannes on the plane (where the bass control, that I neglected to mention here - really came in handy - gave it a slight boost and... No more pilot announcements leakin' in AT ALL - will update about that aspect of the CIEMS ASAP) and they just don't sound like in-ear-monitors to me! I have my Audeze LCD-3s w/ Fazor with me, and these Audio-Technica ATH-M50x (have for review) + my Roxannes, and for DAC/Amps I wanted to travel LIGHT - so I brought my ALO Island, new Dragonfly ver1.2 (FAR better than the first in every way sonically IMO) and my HRT microStreamer. I got DAPS too of course, but...

These things keep blowing my mind! They're out-of-my-head soundstaging, which, for CIEMS, I've experienced before, but no where near this wide or deep. Plus the colorful timbre and amazing lower-mid-band and low-end control is astonishingly realistic. Things decay naturally, and the dimensionality is, again, like wearing over-ear cans!  I'm pumped to keep goin!!!!

You going to our LA Head-Fi Meet on Aug 9th?
Forget where you hail from... I'm back Aug 6th - then off to LA!

THIS combination was also glorious!

It is a long way from Northern Wisconsin to LA....Besides, I will be at Camp with a troop of Boy Scouts. Luckily, I will have my JH16's and my trusty Fostex HP-P1 to keep me company while they are off working on Merit Badges! I may be able to make RMAF though...

would be GREAT to see and sit down & have a chat at RMAF brother.
These still THRILL me. I took my first plane ride with em (four in total, with lay-overs and all) and I had so much fun listening to tunes with these - I'm glad I brought my AK240 AND Glove Audio A1 by CEntrance (using my AK120)!! Now - I still got love for my JH-13 Freqphase CIEMs - but the Roxy's - these things really do, and I have NO idea how - throw a soundstage like a pair of on-ear headphones! Even over-ear, the way music encircled me, engulfed me - just put me in the experience was freakin' dazzling. If you can afford a pair, for me there's no CIEM like the Roxannes.

I feel like I should add to this review, or do a follow-up here - maybe above, and make a mark about how its a follow-up - has anybody ever done that????
