Please get a set of EX1000 and trust me they are classic
(treble revealing too much for some but regarded as the apex of the single DD development)
by many old timers on here with a lot of experience. I truly wanna know what you mean by using the tracks you use.
They cost like $300 and are collector item/imports. Grab a set sometime.

Anyway, The technical prowess of the DX200 is lost on me with all genre' Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, 2pac etc. I think the iDSD is a very similar beast and I actually like that a lot . That is a great compare. Think it is superior to DX200 but it is a brick without a screen so it is not a reasonable option for on the go folks. Nice review. I won't delete this and you get the thumb.

Thanks for the detailed review and as I own a old I-Basso DX 50 which still is good in many ways I will go for the new DX200. Beside the great sound and all the extras it is fantastiv value for the money you pay for .I was looking at the Onkyo player as well but the sound at least for me is to DIGITAL .

"on a Budget"?! :-D Pricing in audiophile tech world is getting out of hand.

Outstanding review, thanks! I'm about to get started as a reviewer on here, and you (and a handful of other reviewers) are the standard I aspire to one day measure up to! Or at least approach :p
Have you heard the Onkyo DP-X1A? Just wondering if you have, and how you would compare it with this DX200? :)

LOL, what do you do with all the stuff you get to review since you can't sell them on Headfi? Send them back to the manufacturer? While it sounds like free stuff, I'm sure it's extremely time consuming. Keep up the excellent work!
