Nice review. I would call out to folks that the L-cushions may be problematic. I could not wear the SR325e headphones for more than 45 to 60 minutes without discomfort. Everyone is different but I would rate the comfort of the SR225e/SR325E much lower. In fact, I returned mine.
Very helpful review. After auditioning both SR225e and SR325e I decided for the 325e because of the bass, it is better in the 325e IMO. About the comfort well they are OK for me but I haven't use them for more than 90 min.
With respect to the material on the headband - yeah it's cheap looking and feeling, but it hasn't split, cracked, peeled, or otherwise flaked off my pair of Alessandro MS-1's since I bought them in September 2000.
With respect to comfort - I don't normally wear headphones for any length of time longer than an album's worth of music without taking a break, so they're comfortable enough for me. It's not like putting two fluffy little lambskin covered pillows on my head, but it's also not like wearing a vise studded with nails either. YMMV.
Nice review. I owned the Grado RS2i before and found its soundstaging to be smallish. I am curious that you described the SR225e to have expansive soundstage. Would the e series change the Grado sound that much...wish that I could have the chance to listen to this new series soon.
