Thank you for the honest and truly insightful review, shotgunshane. It's a shame, really, since I'm quite fond of my MG7's, and had high hopes for their custom flagship. On the other hand, my wallet thanks you. :)

Thanks for the comments. Yes it was very disappointing, not to mention depressing to think of wasting so much money. On the bright side, I'll have an Aurisonics AS-2 soon. I've heard the prototype and it was very good!

No problem, thanks for the comments. I'd recommend listening to a demo first but I don't think Future Sonics makes demos. Also keep in mind that Future Sonics doesn't allow refunds and reshelling is impossible, due to the glue destroying the driver upon removal. Future Sonics confirmed this and told me they always replace the driver for rebuilds during warranty period. The typical reshellers also wouldn't touch when I inquired b/c I wanted to be able to sell them.

As another owner of the FS MG6Pro, I have a suspicion that the 3k-4k discrepancy that you mention (which I hear as a kind of 'honking' sound, on my pair) may be due to a resonant frequency of the air chamber within the CIEM shell, within which the dynamic driver is glued, in 'free-space'.

As I posted, in your thread, Shane (some years ago), I consider it absurd of Futuresonics to have made no attempt to account for the resonant frequency of the air chamber within the CIEM shell, AND to have (seemingly) made no attempt to make the chamber dimensions and volume identical from one pair of MG6 Pros to the next.
