Thanks bud. Funnily enough your in luck as I got to try the RE-400's at a Head fi meet so I know what you mean.  Basicly the R2's are very unfatiguing but will complement better recordings. Think of the RE-400 all cleaned up without any sense of haze but just as smooth and balanced.

Hope that helps.

Klonatans you can find more info out on Flares Kickstarter page, basicly the difference is in the materials used for the housing, the Pro's are made out of high grade Titanium and the R2A's are made from Aluminium. Each effects the sound differently the Pro's are also the only element to feature a close packed hexagonal structure.

oh, that's it. I'm sold! :)
One more thing if you could kindly comment on: What's the physical / size comparison between RE-400 and R2PROs? Tried to measure things up with those 12mm-7mm dimensions provided by Flare but it's difficult to quantify unless you have the real thing in hand.

You can get cigarette filter tips about the same size as 7mm x 12mm. Imagine one of those pushed a small way into a Comply .. pretty small! No wonder they're so comfortable.

Thanks for reviewing these!  I have been looking for something similar to the RE-400/600 sound sig but with better build quality and it sounds like these may be it!  Another iem I've had my eye on is the new DN2000J.  I know not the same iem, but how do the R2PRO's stack up to your DN2000's?  Thanks!

This will definitely clean up all the unwanted details I can find in recording tracks. No doubt, we won't have to spend >$1,000 reference headphones.

LuckyNat , that was a great way to visualize their shape and size. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply guys. In comparison the Dunu 2000 are brighter sounding and have a lighter note presentation. The sub bass is a little deeper with the Dunu but without the midbass bloom you get some great detailing and mids as much as I love the Dunu's I prefer the fatigue free listen experience the R2Pro's provide. They both are great I might try the 2000J as I'm very curious I can imagine the clarity is going to be phenomenal. Size wise the cigarette filter tips is a perfect analogy it's about the width of a 1pence piece. Hope that clears things up I can upload a little comparison pic in the review

Dunu8068, your articles wrote "We plan to offer various cable options in the future including..." Are you refering to Flare Audio or you are selling?

Will upload a pic when I'm home. Sorry that should have been changed to "Flare" but must have missed it when editing. That particular bit of information was taken as a quote from information provided by Flare Audio. I am not selling or affiliated with Flare Audio in anyway. Also thank you for pointing it out I was extremely tired when I final proof read and posted it lol.

Have updated the review with a picture of the R2 in comparison to a 5 pence piece and 1 pence piece for reference. Without tips inserted the overall size is about the diameter of 5p.

Axis1 have amended that typo thanks :)

It's okie a nice review that worth reading over and over! I have one doubt on treble as weak, even on FLAC and DSD, the treble range still weak and can be compensated with EQ-ing? At the same time, I have emailed you.

Ha thanks for the kind words Axis1. I wouldn't be concerned about the treble it is highly detailed and resolving as I mentioned its more just the upper midrange but with more burn in and brain adjustment this is become far less problematic. I will try and update the review over the next week if time permits just to add some more impressions, Have emailed you back by the way :).

If we can tweak our imperfect ears for sharpest and perfect hearing regardless of different individuals, maybe Aumeo is something that create the new standard for listening music.

Great review. I just want to try this iem!
Have you ever had a chance to listen to the FAD Heaven VI? If this happened, could you tell which one has got the best sound quality?
Do you think R2A and Heaven IV sound signature are similar?
Thanks!

Great review - any advice on how to stabilise the cable? I'm finding the stainless splitter in my R2S is swinging about and straining the seal in my ear. Would love a better cable, perhaps with memory wire for over ear use and a slider above the splitter.

Thank you for the great review!!! The is a drop on massdrop on Dunu D-2000J. I'm wondering if you have tried the Dunu D-2000J and R2pro and if you did, which one would you go for?
