One of the best reviews I've read in a while. Loved the song titles with descriptions. Still looking for a DD iem that can match or surpass timbre/tone of the Lyra II matched with WM1A. A8000 has my attention.
Very nice reveal however I think if you are looking for bass cannon, those low frequency emphasized iems will never have the delicate and airy tonality the A8K has to offer. Also it is really unfortunate that you do not have another cable to try. I use a four-core heavy custom wire with pure silver and a platinum/silver alloy and that increased the note weight and addEd body to the A8000. It also adds smoothness to the treble and make it such a joy to listen to. I do enjoy your choice of song tracks. I have the WM1Z bit I like it pairs with my AK2K.
@Jalo thanks for the comment! I think you're right. As I've often said, at this level, it really just comes down to the kind of sound signature that one is looking for. And in achieving any specific sound signature, there are always compromises to be made. Of course, if it's your ideal sound signature, you hopefully won't feel like there were any compromises! Well, this is for the benefit of others reading too; I'm sure this is not news to you
What was the name/brand of the cable you used which added body and note weight? Consider me interested
@ehjie I'm trying to figure out which particular EP that is? Do you have a title or link? I'm subscribed to their Bandcamp page, which is where I buy all their music, and I just received a notification today that they've released a new single. I've got both of their full albums, but I've just realised that they also release singles separately that are not from those albums! So am going to check all the tracks today and get anything that's missing from my collection

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the feedback. Perhaps you haven't read many reviews recently? Haha
Well, there are some great reviewers on Head-Fi and I've just tried to learn from them whilst also staying true to my own personal style (which is advice I'd give to anyone trying to start/improve review writing).
I haven't heard the Lyra II (or Lyra I for that matter, haha) so I can't comment, but I'm glad the A8000 has your attention and can certainly recommend checking it out

I am looking for an iem with punchier low mids (and for drum instruments) to help match alongside the A8000.
My Simphonio vr1 does it somewhat. Though it is only a step better than the A8000 in the punchier direction. It isn't dedicated to such a roll.
A nice iem to dedicate for the bassier/punchier roll...The Shuoer EJ07 does it somewhat.
