They've quickly become one of my more favoured IEMs, now adopted into my 6-8 core rotation sets, so thanks for all the insights. Detailed, organic, musical. Don't find them at all overly bright. Easily the equal of anything under USD 500.

Unfortunately, with the (lush) included Canary cable, the 0.78mm 2 pin connectors slide out far too readily, to such an extent I'd not want to risk listening anywhere other than on the sofa. The cables slip out with even the slightest movement or adjustment.

Anyone else had issues with the sloppy connection?

Can't buy the Acoustune AEX70 in the UK, but I can buy for MYR 35 per pair back home in Malaysia, direct from Acoustune. How do the different sizes compare to others eg the SpinFit W1 *medium* that I'm currently using with the EPZ 530 (insertion depth not quite enough).

Received 3 strips, each of 6 pairs, of tips from EPZ, many of them are way too narrow for the EPZ 530 nozzles 😂 🤣 and mostly they're pretty awful tips by any measure...

Hilarious.

- glad you like em, since I was coming from a warmish set, the treble did took me awhile to get use to haha..
- I use AEX07 not AEX70 they are different model I guess.
- my 2pin sit tight, I mostly used em on my desk or while driving (mostly stationary). You could try to wipe your 2 pin with a syringe of water and dry it with a microfiber cloth etc, it could be due to a layer of your on the surface of the 2 pin.
- also didn't know you're malaysian as well.

I'm not Malaysian 😂
Just been living in KL and Singapore 50/50 since 2009. Apart from during Covid-19. Grew up in Hong Kong. British passport. In the UK for surgery on my broken arm 🙋🏼‍♂️ playing rugby 🏉 in Hong Kong 😂

From what I can gather my EPZ 530 were July 2023 production run. Don't know if earlier or recent batches of the 530 have any variation. Tried other 0.78mm 2 pin cables, same issue. Where all my 2 pin cables are seated nice and firmly with my other IEMs - eg Aür Audio Neon Pro (including the stock EPZ 530 cable) - none of them stay securely seated in the EPZ sigh 😑

Considering the spectacular sound, breathtaking levels of detail and a warm sonic blanket that they deliver, I'm willing to make some allowances. Nonetheless they're clearly borderline faulty finishing of both shells (there are other minor fit and finish issues you don't normally see at this price point).

👆🏼 Noted on the tips. The AEX70 are "supposed to be" an upgrade 😂

Having said all the above, I wouldn't want to put anybody off buying the EPZ 530. On the contrary, they're easy to recommend.

The comfort is fantastic, they look a million dollars (until you scrutinise closely), the cable is tip top and the sound is...peerless at this price. Musical, emotional, high on detail, placing you right in the middle of the music. A unique character all their own. Kinda antique Stradivarius vs Ibanez Steve Vai Jr 😂

They're endlessly engaging and I expect to have a fruitful long term relationship with them. Personally I prefer them all round to either my NEON Pro or Monarch mk2 - they're somehow instantly loveable!

It's really hard to explain...

- oh my bad, thought you're malaysian haha..
- you could contact AE EPZ store for a replacement if it's really bad. I heard their customer service is pretty good.
- quite surprised you prefer it over NEON PRO (though I have not heard it) as monarch 2 I can totally understand why.

Enjoy! hope you can get a replacement!

There's more character and emotion to the EPZ 530, they've really got a distinct personality. Considering the price difference they're a surprisingly close match to the Aür Audio, not quite on par for the technicalities, but tone and tuning, the EPZ, for me, are just a bit more special than the Neon Pro. Of course the Neon Pro are phenomenal, but the EPZ bring me closer to the music as perhaps the artists intended or hoped for.

And honestly, as you suggested, the EPZ 530 are an easy win over the Monarch mk2, which I'll be putting up for sale.

I'd even go so far as to say they're a sure fire blind buy at the price.

Somehow I don't want a replacement. They're so great, to me, that I can kinda live with their minor idiosyncrasies. And they're certainly the only IEMs I own that I *won't* consider selling at some point.

Never really had this feeling for one little pair of IEMs before! Stupid and sentimental I know 😌 🤣

@innovated can totally relate... I sold my Variations after 2 weeks of 530 ownership, I keep gravitated towards it for more of the time.

You're not going to believe this.
Bought a bunch of boxes of the Truthear Holà as stocking fillers for non audiophile buddies. Took them for a bit of a test drive (they really are way better than the £15 price tag). Noticed the 2 pin connectors were really tight. Just for a laugh, swapped the stock Holà cable into the EPZ 530 - and voilà, the cable stays very firmly attached... 😂

Kinda stupid to be using stock Holà cable with £365 IEMs, but hey, can't notice a big difference in the sound and they're not falling off any more.

Go figure! Duh 🤦‍♂️ 🐥
