Great review, but one mistake.  The metal parts on the DN-2002 are steel, not aluminium.

Thanks, I just corrected it.

"The cables above the y-split have got an air canal on the inside and can be squeezed which should improve durability – the cable of the DN-2000J has got the same air canal."

I don't understand where this air canal is located. There is no mention of this in the manual (if you can call it that....very spartan 1 sheet of paper)

Red black green/gun metal sounds...not ideal probably for many flc8s users...thanks for comparison. Was really curious as to how it compared with flc8s.

Oddly shaped but interesting housings.  In some of the pictures they're reminiscent of a tiny SLR camera.

Well with our upgrade cable, the weighty and soundstage getting enhanced, texture, airy and the clarity of midrange imaging improve a lot.

@HiFiChris I was going to buy DN2000J for classical, orchestra, acustic music and stuff like that. Should I get the DN2002 instead?

@DUNU-Topsound What do you mean? You are talking about an aftermarket cable? Where can people purchase that? Not finding it anywhere on sale...

Well, it totally depends on your tonal preference - although different sound signatures can be an indicator whether a headphone suits a genre or not, personal preference is much more important (while most people would take a bassy or v-shaped in-ear for Electronical or Hip-Hop, I would choose a neutral in-ear like the UERM or ER-4S).
If you're looking for some more beef in the lows and a more relaxed lower and middle treble while still having a bright-ish upper treble, the DN-2002 would do.
Personally, out of the two, I prefer the DN-2000J for Classical despite its sometimes somewhat too forward lower and middle treble. It s just not my favourite in-ear for vocal tracks and music with high treble density as its highs can be somewhat strident at times (might be different for foam tip users, as I am using silicone tips).

@HiFiChris Thanks for the input! I'm not too worried about harshness, I have Altone 200 and i handle it very well in that aspect :)

@mdiogofs yes I'm talking about upcoming upgrade cable, it's not yet launched but you can expect it later on market.

I bought this earphones last week.
Could a replace cable (like "Brevity 5N CGOCC-A SPC" from Null-Audio)  make the sound even better?
Thanks

A different cable might change the tonality a bit (if the impedance is different) and/or also change the sensitivity a little. Besides that, it is a totally individual thing if you believe in "the magic of cables". I for once am an objectivist and do not, however if you want to try it, I won't stop you from getting a third-party cable.

Chris, thanks a lot for comparing 2002 to FLC. As I understand, 8S is still your overall recommendation for USD 300-400 hybrids? May I ask if you could say anything about DN-3001 (didn't manage to find a review)?
