Great report on the drivability of the HD800. This Mojo has some power for sure!

Thanks for the review, your comments on the Alpha Dogs is welcome. I think the Mojo could be the replacement to the O2/ODAC I have been looking for.

Just curious if the Mojo is more than 30% louder than full volume of DacMagic Plus headphone out?
If not, what %?

Hi I have no idea what the difference in power between the two units is. Sorry. I wouldn't have been able to listen to either at anywhere near full volume- the specs say 35mw at 1Khz into 600 ohms and 720 mw into 8 ohms for the Mojo but I can't find them for the DM+.  The 02 from JDS labs has 88 mw into 600 ohms. 

THX, I normally use the DMplus with an amp in line out mode. I only ask as before I purchased I had read in WhatHiFi about the DMplus being powerful enough to dive a headphone like the AKGk701. Knowing the power requirements for the AKGs, I kinda knew it would not really power them alone. In many ways trying to go portable with the k701s ends up being the ultimate portable amp challenge. Amazingly the JDS labs c421 almost does it. Even 10-20% more power and maybe something like the c421 would actually be right there. I will get the Mojo anyway as your write up is very convincing in the DAC dept. Cheers!

Hi there, I looked at your equipment list and there's some great equipment for you to pit against the Mojoamp wise. Whether the Mojo could beat the WA5 or others is debatable but it does beat the DM+ , hands down. With all the other fantastic kit you have it could be argued that your Dac could be a weak spot. You need a Mojo in your life! Please tell me you have done some great vinyl rips with your VPI Scout
