Great review! I laughed when you mentioned hitting the Play button twice because of the 2 second delay. I did the exact same thing and kept wondering why the N5 wouldn't start playing...
I also thought the HW layout could've been a bit tighter. After using the Shanling M3, which is a right-hander's dream layout IMHO, the N5 was hard to get used to at first.
However, I found the energetic sound to make up for it. In this general price tier, I've been recommending the Cayin N5 for those wanting a more energetic sound or the Shanling M2 for those who want a more laid-back sound. Both are fantastic DAPs!
