Thank you for a such nice and in-depth review! It was very interesting to see some comparisons to FAD V since it's an IEM I consider buying. Now Orion also looks tempting
How would you compare the treble response of these two IEMs? Which one of these would be more prone to sibilance?
When I demoed FAD V I found them to be a little (very little) too harsh on some brighter recordings. I love good detail and resolution capability in an IEM but can't tolerate any harshness.
@leeperry thanks! lol we don't want that to happen do we
@lelutas you're welcome, both of them have similar bandwidth extension (treble). Main difference is the orion has a slight emphasis in the lower treble. This is easily tamed to near neutral with the use of comply tx 400 tips. My experience with the heaven V - the treble is quite smooth but it does misbehave when not inserted deep enough or lack of seal. I use stock tips with them.
Try using Spinfit eartips (red tubing) . It'll make the treble better and the bass tighter. This is a very linear IEM when I tried it. The only thing that tops it in terms of linearity is the Rhines Stage 3 which is 3x the price.
