Excellent review with one little flaw you really should be crystal clear on:
The great volume limiting feature is NOT available when plugged in, as a matter of fact it gets plenty loud with them plugged in making them no better than a regular set of headphones. If used strictly as a bluetooth headset, these rock for kids, though. Otherwise, good job on pitching these to parents, it's the real target audience
@dragon2knight I wrote that in the pros and cons... but thank you for clarifying! I tried to pitch these to the parents, they're the ones that can read it xD
Nice unique review. These aren't a product that I could ever see myself buying since I don't have a kid, however I have lots of friends with their own rugrats pattering about. Thanks for bringing these to our attention! And thanks to Head-fi for front paging it.
@dragon2knight@avitron142 i agree with you guys, this needs to be able to use that function while wired as well as bluetooth. Especially considering parent's have millions of other things to remember and they may forget to charge it... also i don't know about you guys but i find at the max setting even when bluetooth (its suppose to be 85dB) but to be honest i think it should be much lower still if this is going to be handled by kids (they will crank the volume up on anything). i find it a bit loud on the max setting on my ipad/ipod touch.
@Tom22 ,
Actually, the volume while on bluetooth is not going to do any damage to a kids hearing even at max volume as it's recommended by several agencies saying that 85dB is fine and won't cause any damage. Does it sound loud at the max, yes it does, but it is fine for the stated reasons. I wouldn't worry about it.
