How long did you listen to them before reviewing? Sorry,Chaqune a son gout! Each to his own taste I guess!
Doesn't sound like my Nighthawks. You say lush, I say smooth. After listening for a month now, I find them to be the best headphones for my music, jazz and classical, ever. They handle the Berlin Philharmonic with great aplomb and the Christian McBride Trio with the same musicality. As an amateur musician for over 60 years, I find them slightly warm, deep diving into the bass clef and faithful and detailed in the altissimo register where the screechy violins and piercing piccalos of other lesser headphones reside.
They are the best birthday gift I ever gave myself.

We were given a week's time so I spent around 6-7 hrs just listening to them casually before I really buckled down to gather my impressions. I'm happy to hear that you like them. I agree that they sound really smooth and enjoyable - to my ears it was akin to a tubed CD player that I once owned. I think if AQ made a few tweaks to the design, they'd have headphones truly reference-worthy in their hands.

Out of the box, I thought they sounded rolled off in the treble, but I left them playing for multiple days (without listening to them) and now everything sounds great.  Not sure if those stiff 50mm drivers and rubber surround need to break-in before sounding their best or what but they certainly did improve and it wasn't me getting used to their sound. The sound is now open/spacious, detailed with a beautiful midrange and powerful bass. They can handle 1.5 watts and I think they like the juice...they sound incredible hooked up to the Asgard 2 on high gain.
These are also the most comfortable headphones I've ever used. There are A LOT of great can's out there now, just be sure to give these a try if you're looking for a pair in this price range or a bit higher.
