You seem to have made too big of a leap in audio gear, and very quickly. Not so long ago, I was also listening to whatever headset comes with your whatever device.. and I do look forward to buying something like an LCD-2/3 one day, but my idea was that it would be better to gradually move my way up to that by trying a few things in between. Maybe it's not the most economically rational choice (if I was gonna buy the very high end stuff eventually, why should I pay for a bunch of mid-range gear now), but the motivation is that I want to train my ears and brain to appreciate the possibly subtle differences that the very high investment of buying 1000$+ equipment will give me.  And judging by your somewhat underwhelmed reaction to these cans, I think I'm doing the right thing.
