Hey, nice review :)

You said Bluetooth and WiFi work quite well, and as i've read many complains about those functionnality lags or misfunction, has it always work well for you, or did a firmware update fix the issues that people had mentionned?

Thanks in advance!

I've only tested the Wifi for functionality and used the BT sparingly. A little lag, but nothing terrible.

I don't understand why you mention as a misser: FILE TRANSFER FOR MAC USERS.
If one thing is easy, it is the way you move your music files from your hard disc, or external drive  into the AK, honestly I wouldn't know an easier way.
I actually sold my 120 to get the 120II, because file transfer on the 120 was a drag and the unit in general is unfortunately too slow. Love the 100II and 120II because of their speed.

Hey great review. Ive been using a rwak100 and i was wondering if you've had an experience with one and could possibly compare it with the ak100ll. The main reason i still like the rwak is the battery life and compact size. So basically im wondering if its worth the upgrade. Thanks for your help!

Nice review JD. Odd to find you buying gear used though :)

@Troisanneaux I explained in the review that using that app to get music onto the internal memory of my AK100ii is terrible. It very often freezes, hangs up, or stops for no reason. Took me no less than 10 tries to get 20gb of music onto the AK.

@ElMariachi Sorry, I have no experience with the OG AK.

@MattTCG Yeah man, my first foray into used gear. :)

Bought one and hate it. I'm a Mac user and this thing is simply rediculous.

The App is not top, that's true and it does sometimes crash, but let's face it
how many times are we transferring 20gb of music.
The fact that the App, which works easily, sometimes crashes, does not spoil
my love for these Astell & Kern players.

@Troisanneaux Now that I've had the player for a while, I certainly agree. However, my first experience with it (transferring music) was not good at all and we all know how important first impressions are!

So the deal with Android file transfer and the MAC try resetting the PRAM, there is a USB bug with connecting to Android devices. I love my AK, but I have a 200gb card and move music onto there using terminal & rsync, much less pain, only use android file transfer for the internal 64gb

Poor Mac Users. Get a real computer not a toy, and you'll have faster transfers. Macs are overpriced and not for real work (said DTP operator since 15 years).

Hi Great review and down to the point .As today more players come to the market people have more choices and price plays a part as well .
rauendimion the comment in regards of macs is frankly short sided most muisic software need a driver download for macs that is not the case .I have I-Basso and it is very easy to trnsfer files .You should blame Astell &Kern to provide software that fits for mac as well .
In regards of real work I use the macs since 12 years and I do real work .
