Wow, half a star... Someone really hates these IEMs. Now if they sell like Beats, that would be really hilarious.

I love the "Executive Summary" combined with a "Serious FAIL" and stoned South Park pic.

My wallet thanks you purrin. Brutal honesty like this is needed more often around here, over so much prevalent hype.

^ No, what we need are LESS "reviews" like this. If people wanted this, they could go to amazon and read them. I'm tired of all these 1/5 star reviews. To me, this is no better than the people who give the M50 a 1/5 because it doesn't match their sound signature preference.

Why would I want to review an overpriced IEM? If I did, it'd be somewhat better than the youtube like comments Purrin has made. Maybe you know..describe the sound signature instead of "what's up with the mids?" or how it blows monkey chucks.

Updated to provide more info. Note that the 0.5 stars was for overall value. Sound quality is 2.5 stars = so so OK. The reason the review is short is because I didn't have nor care about the packaging, the history of the product, background info on its development, # of or type of drivers, shininess or color of the unit, review 3D illustrations of explanations of the technology employed, etc.
I simply grabbed them and shoved them in my ear as much as possible, played around with them to get a good seal, tried so shove them more into my ear to get he best bass, etc. There are a lot of great $950-999 IEMs today. This K3003 is $1,200. It's not bad, but neither is it good.

BTW, I don't give 5 stars to anything. Even the Eddie Current Balancing Act gets 4.5 stars. There's only one piece of equipment that I own that I would give 5 stars, and you can't buy it.

"There's only one piece of equipment that I own that I would give 5 stars, and you can't buy it." - Out of curiosity, what is it?

Thought they were okay when I heard them for a limited time at the Village meet. But not $1200 okay. Now I'm also reminded that you helped fix that other dude's Balancing Act at the meet as well.

Nice, hopefully more reviews start rolling in as the K3003 make their way around the country.

Jimmy's BA at the meet? It wasn't a serious issue. Someone jammed the volume knob in and made it bind with the faceplate. What's sad is that the person who "broke it" didn't own up to it and Jimmy had to come back and discover this for himself. Fortunately, I always bring tools and extra stuff to meets just in case these kinds of things happen.

Probably wasn't a serious issue, but Jimmy didn't know that. He was sweatin' it until it got resolved. As for the 5 star thing you mentioned earlier... I'll guess the Stax setup.

Lol way to go purrin. At least you are honest. Then again your experience on it could be due to fit issues (including your ear canal structure). I had a similar experience with the EX1000 and found them no better than my IE7s even. Nothing but sibilance and fatigue.

It definitely could be fitment issues. I'm being exposed to more IEMs, and I've noticed a lot of the short bud IEMs don't work well with me, i.e. Grado GR8. Not all of them, but many. As Insidious Meme said, they are "OK". But to me OK doesn't cut for $1300.
It turns out that I wasn't using the reference tube, but another more open? tube. Anaxilus set it up for me because this way (he knows my preferences) because he felt the K3003 with reference tube could not compete with the UERMs in terms of resolving power. Supposedly the with the reference tube, the upper mid peaks are more tamed, but at the expensive of it sounding like a lower-end IEM. So in the end, it's kind of like either mid-fi slightly forward sound, or high-fi nasty peaks sound. Still the bass integration - how it lags so far behind the mids/treble makes me want to burst out laughing.
I don't know if I will ever get these again. I am starting to do IEM measurements now (to those who have asked.)

Found an error. Where it reads, "As far as I am concerned, this product is some kind of sick joke," the word 'product' should be replaced by 'review.' Quite an easy fix.

^ Of course this is a great review to you since yours is essentially an extended version of this practical joke.
