What is the best software to playback audio content?

I love the bloat free simple build of foobar, I have converted many people to it! The ease of locating music is probably my favorite feature.

the be all end all: first sub 100$ open, unamped headphones

I personally love my AD700s, and for the money I think they are an incredible value. They are lacking in bass, no doubt, so if that is a priority, be aware.

    My Mid- to High-fi Review: Denon D2000, HD650, AD700, DT770pro (56k Warning)

Old, but interesting read, nice comparisons between my current phones and the d2000s I am considering.

Need tips for competitive gaming on a budget

I am a competitive player, i am a well know CSS gungamer, if you ever want to play with me, hit me up. I currently play with the AD700s connected to my Zero Dac. The sound stage is excellent with these phones, and its not unusual for people to complain about how it is impossible for me to do...

ATH AD700 to ATH A900 upgrade

I currently have the AD700s and have decided to upgrade to a set of denon D2000s. I wanted something with better quality and that sounded different from the 700s so that I would have some variety in my headphone collection. I felt like the d2000s have everything i wanted, without sacrificing...

    Reccomend $100~ cans for rock/alt/trance/electronic

Nice music selection. In that price range I personally love my AD700s, and would never hesitate to buy them again and include them in my collection. They lack the bass that you may be desiring, however some EQing has left me more than satisfied. When EQing i love these cans, the bass on is...

    Undecided - Gaming & Movies/Music headphones

Ive used the 701s, the w5000s and the ad700s. I would pick the ad700s with a small amp over my other phones for gaming any day, and I do, pretty much every day. If you every want to play css with a Gun Game pro, lemme know :P.

    AD700's - How to Improve?

Realtek sucks for sure. A cheapie ebay x-fi will be a nice upgrade, then when you have the money you can step up to something like the Zero Dac. I wasn't that impressed with my ad700s at first, but the more I listen to it and the better the source gets, the more that I like them.

Need headphone recommendation - primarily for gaming and ~$150

I always recommend the Ad700 for gaming on a budget. They are great phones, great SQ, fit comfortably, excellent soundstate, good price (about $100) and run great without an amplifier. Search for them here at head-fi, you will be hard pressed to find a bad review.

Buy ATH-AD700 over HD595? Speak up now!

Ive had my ad700s for a while now, and I can honestly say they blow away most headphones under 200 bucks. The bass although mild, is tight and fast, mids and highs are detailed, they are pretty easy to drive and they are very comfortable. I recommend they with a modded Zero Dac :P.

Any advise on and extremely tiny stripped screw?

I was opening up my AD700s to do a cable swap and repaint the grills and I managed to strip the heads of 2 of the screws . I used a perfect sized screwdriver and was SOOOO CAREFUL however I couldn't prevent it, the screws were extremely soft and extremely snug. So any recommendations for...

Yes, however I don't know if "eaten up" is the right term, however your CPU will be responsible for the processing of your sound.

    $100 Budget Gaming Card?

Pick up an x-fi on ebay for cheap, and that is pretty much as good as it is going to get (based upon your use). You will not be able to tell a difference between the cheapest x-fi and a Fatality card. Here is a good one: Creative Lab Sound Blaster X-FI XTREME Music SB0460 7.1 - eBay...

Best Components /w Senn Hd595 PURELY for Gaming

I already posted, but I have to chime in here again. I feel that an x-fi card of your choice (as long as it is true x-fi) and a Zero Dac can not be beat for gaming. You get the EAX, cmss (which actually is good for games) plus bit matched output for your music, and a dac that you can keep...

Best Components /w Senn Hd595 PURELY for Gaming

I'll give you honest opinion, when it comes to games, the best you can possibly get is an x-fi sound card with and optical cable to a Zero DAC. Total cost for this setup, if you shop around (ebay) will end up being around 210-215. With this setup you will get the EAX and cmss and crystalizer...

ATH-AD700 Questions (Owners/People With Experience, I Need You!)

To be honest, it is hard to go wrong with these cans. They are just nice, affordable well rounded headphones. I agree 100 percent with everything that Rednamalas1 said. I have a large head, both wide and tall, and they fit me well, very comfortable. I bent the wings back with a rubber band...
