E-MU 0204 USB: Damn, They've Done it Again! And for $129!!!
Anybody had any luck with the 0204 on OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)? I've tried installing the latest drivers (for Snow Leopard & Lion) in a Mavericks VM, and it crashes on boot when the 0204 is connected to the VM. This does not incline me to try upgrading the host machine (an iMac) to Mavericks.- Dixie Flatline

E-MU 0204 USB: Damn, They've Done it Again! And for $129!!!
Quote: Everybody may know this already, but E-MU released Lion drivers on Friday, downloadable here. They support the 0202, 0204, and 0404 USB. I don't have Lion, but they seem a little more solid on Snow Leopard than the release drivers for the 0204 did.- Dixie Flatline

Anyone familiar with the E-MU 0204?
Quote: Not entirely sure what you mean -- the USB connection makes the 0204 appear as a sound output device in the OS, so if you want to use the 0204 only for music and not be bothered by any other system sounds, then you could do the following (using the connections I described above)...- Dixie Flatline

Anyone familiar with the E-MU 0204?
I've got the 0204 hooked up to an iMac under OSX Snow Leopard, and I've been very happy with it. No power cable, just a USB to the host's USB port. The headphone volume knob also acts as a power switch for the unit as a whole (i.e., if you turn it down to minimum and keep going, it clicks and...- Dixie Flatline

Cowon iAudio X5L/M5L line-out
The connector for the subpack or cradle is the same connector used for the iPaq PDA, actually, and I believe there were a few people making custom line-out cables for the X5 for a while. However, the consensus seems to be that the issue lies within the X5 itself, rather than the subpack. (I use...- Dixie Flatline

Cowon X5L
Regarding the line-out on the X5: there's been a whole lot of discussion about this. Some people like it, some people hate it. It's fairly clear that there's significant bass roll-off with the line-out, but it's up to you whether you can live with it. I'm pretty happy with the X5 line-out going...- Dixie Flatline

A burning in Helsinki
Just ran across these photos from Helsinki: http://www.flickr.com/photos/primejunta/140957047/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/primeju...7594126365151/ Looks like someone set the old railway warehouses next to the rail station and the Kiasma museum on fire. armageddon in 2 minutes
...let's have a nod to the most music-related vision of Armageddon out there (at least that I can think of): So when the last and dreadful hour This crumbling pageant shall devour, The trumpet shall be heard on high, The dead shall live, the living die, And Music shall untune the sky...- Dixie Flatline

Bleargh. Can't stand either one. The only "cola" I drink at all is Inca Kola, which is good stuff (if you don't mind the bright yellow colour.)- Dixie Flatline
