Etymotic Love?
Maybe I'm not inserting my ER4's deep enough - I think yours are a lot further in than I wear mine & I guess this affects the sound. I must try going deeper...!- Little Bob

Just got Denon AH-C751, a bit dissapointed..
I would let them settle down with a few hours of burn in before you bin them, things may well change after 100 hours or so.- Little Bob

Etymotic Love?
Another ER4 convert here. Listening through an iMod, Pvcap dock (with teflon caps too), RSA SR-71A and P to S adaptor the detail these boys pick up is astounding. I will try an Apuresound cable sometime soon, and I really do wish that they didn't stick out so much! Apart from that I am...- Little Bob

Apuresound Re-cabled ER4P - My Experience
I would be very interested in comparisons from anyone who has used the Apuresound ER-4P with the minibox E and an RSA SR-71A? I have eR-4P with P to S cable playing through the SR-71A and coupled with a 5.5G iMod and PVCAP dock the sound is excellent. Would upgrading to an Apuresound cable...- Little Bob

ER4P and Listening Fatigue
I use the Shure olives with my ER-4P and the comfort is fine, so it is worth you giving them a go, although I can't offer any comparisons as I have only ever used the olives. Looking at your sig you seem to be using an amp, in which case I would definitely recommend that you get the P to S...- Little Bob

A Tale of Three amps and an ER-4S
Did you try the Tomahawk in the Medium (or even Lo) gain setting? The Medium gain on my RSA SR-71A gives better sound with ER-4s than Hi - Hi is really for hard to drive cans not easy driven iems like the Etys.- Little Bob

TTVJ Millett Portable Hybrid = Awesome
I like the idea behind this amp - but how robust are they (esp. the valves) when used as a portable? Also, most comments on this thread relate to how well it works with full size cans, what is the performance like with IEM's (ER-4S & SE 530's in particular) is there a lot of back ground hiss?- Little Bob

SR-71A Gain Settings
Well I have an SR-71A and the medium setting seems slightly better IMHO than Lo with my ER-4p and SE530's. I would presume the Hi setting would be best with your AKG 7K01's. It would definitely be worth your while to get a P to S adaptor for your ER-4P - this takes the performance of these...- Little Bob

Where do you buy your music? (CDs? Music service?)
Always buy CD's rather than download. Invariably I buy from local independents, where perhaps they cost a little more, but I hate buying from 'The Man'.- Little Bob

ER-4S and SE530 "Ideal" Amp
Hi Sara, I have both the SE530's and ER4P (&S) amped with an RSA SR-71A and I doubt you can do much better. I think there is an SR-71A in the For Sale forum here for $325 which is an unbelievable steal, although a tad above your budget. I'm not sure that you can buy the SR-71A brand new...- Little Bob
