Well, coming from someone who has tried the ever-first FiiO portable headphone amp powered by the AAA battery, the company has certainly gone a long way!! I suppose this still charges by USB right? Since I still have its old clip-on cousin.

What voltage are you guys running on? As I'm running 220v with stock Sylvania tube, and the whole thing goes scalding hot in hours.

My CV4003 Mullard tube [tube code Gf0] has just arrived half an hour ago, and I got surprised at once. Sounds warmer and most notably bass extension, impact and abit more boom. Will require more A-B to have a fair comparison, but sounds good to me currently as I'm somewhat a basshead myself!

dwong: The Zero DAC emits a fair bit of heat as well, hence I'm now considering to maybe add rubber feets on the EF1 to create a bigger gap in between. EF1 does really get very hot to touch, and I think the Zero DAC isn't gonna help in that. ---- Anyway, someone swiped my Amperex Bugle Boy...

Just received my very own EF1 with the Sylvania tube, works gloriously well with my D5000. Clarity, full-bodied music and deep bass, I'm loving them all! Though a slight problem is being the chassis getting very hot after a couple of hours, including the volume knob.

I've just upgraded from the D2000 to the D5000 and wow. What have I been missing all these while. The sheer quality of the D5000 makes my D2000 sounds very handicapped indeed, in both treble and bass departments!
