Is there something wrong with your credit card or are you located out of the US? I just gave it a try less than 20 min ago because I could use a cheaper pair of closed cans and the order status went through all the way to completed.

The DX90 has a line out but the level is controlled by the volume. This seems strange. Usually the line out is fixed at maximum gain. The way it is right now it is basically just a second headphone jack. Does anyone know how to change it?

One thing I don't understand on either player is that gain sounds better on high gain even at similar volumes. It's not like you can turn the gain down and volume up with same result. Both players sound "thinner" with the gain set to low.

I have mine in hand and willing to sell for a mere $4200. Talk about a bargain!

Yeah, my current job results in me having a laptop everywhere I go so that is a given, but I could see your point for those not tethered to your computer. 

I want that capability because I keep much of my FLAC collection on my laptop/external hard drive. Having a DAP/DAC combo covers all the bases since there is limited storage on the DAP itself. 

I didn't have a really long time to compare, but I have the V1.** dragonfly and I found the X5 to be much better than that. Noticeably better sound stage and better detail. If the DX90 is compatible like others have said here, then I imagine it is better too. Will update when I get mine.

I hope you are right.  Either way the last audiophile DAP I purchased was the Cowon J3 (which was decent in its day)  so I amazed by the improvements made. Also both Fiio and Ibasso managed to hit a nice price point vs quality. 

People started getting their official X5 units from US distributors last week. The only reason it took until yesterday to get mine was because I ordered it from B&H, which was stupid since they are across the country from me. Ibasso missed beating the X5 to the US market by at least a week. 

Received my X5 yesterday and got shipping notification that the DX90 will be delivered tomorrow. The X5 puts my Cowon J3 to shame. I will say it will be tough for the DX90 to be too much better than the X5 because that player sounds so damn good. It may come down to features rather than sound...
