I can't comment with any comparisons between a highend PC setup and a highend streamer like the Lumins but honestly if you don't really need a pc in your set-up I would get a nice streamer. The music PC route is messy and complicated. I've had tons of compatibility issues, stability issues...

If the volume is set to 0 and all of the dsp turned is off then it is acting just as any other DAC.

The eq is doing exactly what it's supposed to here. You are definitely confusing yourself with the graph scale. And if you want it to be more extreme just lower the corner frequency or increase the filter slope.

Double check your graphs scale in REW first. But also when you look at the FR of a headphone measured on a dummy head or speakers measured in a room with eq applied, the result is not going to be super nice and predictable most of the time. Your 6db bass boost could look like 4db bass boost...
