Audio-GD Compass - 3 years on
I just noticed that my Compass had its 3rd birthday a month ago. How many of you guys still remember the buzz it made? I still have it in day to day use at work and it keeps up quite nicely. Opened it up and it looks like on the day I bought it. For me it was the first step into "hi-fi" from...- Olev

Musiland Monitor 02 US
There is now a new release that still has version 1.0.8.4 but does not slow down dated 26 Feb. I guess the speed fix did not justify a new version number.- Olev

Musiland Monitor O2 US -NuForce uDAC - Musicstreamer II
If you use SPDIF out only then there is no need to use mains power for the 02 US - it's only for the analog out part.- Olev

Musiland Monitor 02 US
Did you reboot during uninstall-install cycle. I've had problems with no-reboot updates. I've found out the best is to uninstall, reboot, install, plug device and if windows asks for another reboot - do it. You can update the driver with no reboot but going to 1.0.8.2 without reboot my 02 US had...- Olev

Musiland Monitor 02 US
Just to test my first oscilloscope I measured spdif output of my 02 US thru a generic cable to my DAC19-MK3 playing at 44.1kHz. Seems pretty nice, a little bit overshoot but nice rise and flat A closer look with old signal trace showing: And this is at 88.2kHz And this is at 48kHz...- Olev

Musiland Monitor 02 US
Guys don't mix Musiland and your DAC problems. I have my 02 US connected to an Audio-gd DAC19-MK3 via rca spdif and it takes just about a sec (not 3 sec) to reprogram the chip and the DAC is dead silent during that time.- Olev

Musiland Driver: exact sample rate version
Be sure to reboot after uninstalling previous version! I went from 1.0.7.0 to 1.0.8.2 by just uninstalling-unplugging-installing-plugging. After that the versions were: ICU 1.6 APU 2.0 I saw screenshots on musiland forums that ICU should be 1.8. So I uninstalled 1.0.8.2 driver, removed the...- Olev

Musiland Driver: exact sample rate version
Installed on my Monitor 02 US. Damn this is nice, they now use exactly what was said should be used in this and other forums. A product that keeps getting better... Maybe jkeny or anyone else can give this a technical review and verify that now it is true 44.1 and not cutting corners with a...- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
Just like FUN this casing seems a lot cheaper. Take a look at Compass/DAC19MK3 - they had like a modular case, hard, strong... and I thought audio-gd stylish. These new models just don't have the look anymore.- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
Looking at a-gd site it seems that it is no longer being sold - running the Chinese DAC list page thru google translate it is under "Have to stop selling the products". I'm just curious - was demand too high and they ran out of some critical parts?- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
I am not a great historian but reading a few threads about PMD200 it seems that it never really made into full production and while PMD100 was a real chip PMD200 was just a programmed universal chip. Manufacturer information here: DSP56362: 24-Bit Audio Digital Signal Processor. It is basically...- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
Well I cannot speculate about the PMD 1.3824MHz "overclock" But the PCM1704 is capable of running in 768kHz - but this is not the same THING - PCM1704 was designed so that it could be played with DF1704 that can output 96kHz x 8 = 768 kHz (this means 8x oversampling) - PDM100 is doing 8x...- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
I just tried my DAC-19MK3 PMD100 with my old transport M-Audio Transit and it PLAYS 88.2kHz FLAC's. So it is NOT Musiland problem that I thought it was - both Musiland 02 US and Transit can play 88.2kHz music thru the PMD100. I guess it has something to do with PMD100 running at 256Fs (this...- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
That is my point - PMD100 playing 88.2 with no resampling means Musiland has some serious problems playing 88.2kHz! 99.6kHz is static - 88.2 should be too, but it is not - plays fine (I can't say perfect because I have not gotten to critical listening, but music playing 88.2 is non distorted and...- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
Yes I know that. But how the hell can I play 88.2kHz at the moment? Even when I use resampler 99.6>88.2 is plays. Maybe this is the wrong thread but seems that Musiland 02 US does not output correct 88.2kHz signal if PMD100 can play it.- Olev

Review of Audio-GD DAC-19MK3
Just received my DAC-19MK3 I comes with PMD100 in default configuration and I opened the case and it is PMD100 - but I can play 88.2kHz files with foobar with no resampling with my Musiland 02 US as the source. Musiland should have no problems with bit-perfect low jitter 88.2kHz output but how...- Olev

Musiland Monitor 01 USD 24/192 USB to SPDIF
Reading Musiland BBS and translating with google it seems that 1.0.6.0 driver is in the beta phase (not general download) and reportedly it has again reduced CPU usage and ASIO "sonic boom" (nice translation) problems.- Olev

Sorry I was not screaming to you. This has just popped up on many threads where people are deciding against Musiland with the only argument being "they are charging money for drivers". Sorry again!- Olev
