I have AKG-Q701 headphones and a Titanium HD sound card running windows 7 Professional. I'm trying to make the most of it for counter-strike source. I've read around a little bit and am getting confused on how I'm suppose to configure it. These are the steps I have noticed people keep saying...- MarbeL

What gaming sound card do I get?
I bought an AKG Q701(62 Ohm) and thought I already had an x-fi card installed in my desktop. Turns out I was wrong and only have on board audio. . . Anyways, I'm looking for the best soundcard for fps gaming (counter strike source) on my pc with my current head phones. I'm looking to get the...- MarbeL

Dolby Headphone Amp
I'm very confused on this subject after looking at it. All I know is I have a pair of AKG Q701's that I want to pair with a Dolby Headphone amp for online fps gaming. When I look up Dolby Headphone on Dolby's website they have Pro Logic II, Pro Logic IIx & Pro Logic IIz. I think it works like...- MarbeL

Gaming amp for akg q701
I took a look at the Xonar essence STX. I'm not sure if it is what I want or not. It has Dolby Headphone but it only says up to 5.1 surround sound. Does that mean it only does Dolby Headphone pro logic II instead of Dolby Headphone pro logic IIx or IIz? I read further down and it mentioned...- MarbeL

Help me choose
I ordered the AKG Q701 Lime version just now online through Amazon. Turns out most guitar shops just aren't open on Sunday and many of them don't seem to carry this one anyway. Can't wait to get it in the mail, will post some results around the 26th.- MarbeL

Help me choose
thanks for the inputs. I think I should get the Q701 instead as it has a max impedence of 52 ohms instead of 62 ohms like the 701. From the specs, it just looks like an updated 701. I will be ordering the Q701 and hoping that my sound card will power it just fine.- MarbeL

Help me choose
I'd be plugging into a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum PCI Sound Card. I'd definitely get a zalman clip on mic. I'm not in a noisy area so the k701 would work great. Do I need an amp?- MarbeL

Gaming Headphones for PC FPS
I'm using a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum PCI Sound Card. The SR850 doesn't look quite as nice as I would like, the pleather and plastic headband just don't look comfortable. I like how the XB700 & the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 are very padded everywhere.- MarbeL

Gaming Headphones for PC FPS
The 555 & 595 don't look quite as comfortable to me. I'm thrilled that my sound card will work just as good as the dolby surround sound thing. So far I'm looking at the XB700 & the Beyerdynamic MMX 300.- MarbeL

Gaming Headphones for PC FPS
Those look comfortable, but would I need to get that dolby surround device with the mixamp, or would my sound blaster x-fi card work for that? Also, I wouldn't need an amp for that would I? Didn't mention before but I'm willing to spend around $300 for the headphones, will spend more if I have...- MarbeL

For gaming hd555 or medusa 5.1?
Which is better for gaming? Stero headphones or 5.1 headphones? All I really care about is the positioning capabilities. I want to be able to pin-point exactly where people are in a first person shooter game such as counter-strike. I want to have no trouble telling if a person is in front...- MarbeL
