    Sennheiser HD600- coiled cable replacement?

Hi,   I'm looking for a coiled cable to suit my Sennheiser HD600.   Does such a cable exist?   I'm not interested in audiophile aftermarket cables. Durability is paramount.

    Denon DCM 280 or 380

Hello, Has anyone had experience with the Denon DCM 280/380 multi-CD changers? I was considering the NAD C542 but like the idea of a 5 disc changer with .mp3 capability... (don't hit me!)

    PSB Alpha B loudspeakers (Australia)

Has anyone in Australia audition the well-like PSB Alpha B speaker? How much does it go for around here? What did you think? Is it suitable for _real_ bookshelf use? Or do they need stands? I will be partnering it with either a 10wpc microhifi system (Panasonic SC-PM03( or an ordinary...

    Impressed: Sennheiser HD 202

I was at my local record store last week and realised they've changed all the headphones. Every listening station (Technics SL1200Mk2 -> Sony integrated amp) is now outfitted with the Sennheiser HD 202. Usually I bring my own headphones in (usually KSC35, rarely HD25) but I was curious and...

Finally - soundcard with DTS, DPL2, Dolby Headphone

I've been looking to upgrade my onboard soundcard, and came across the Videologic SonicXplosion / SonicXplosion DVD. Does anyone have any details on these cards? The SonicXplosion DVD supports DTS, Prologic II, and Dolby Headphone, but the Videologic website dosn't say how it does this, so I...

    Sasha - Airdrawndagger

After the long wait what can I say? What a disappointment. Sounds like it's about 10 years old- full of bleeps, synth warbles and muddied sounds. But of course, that explains why he's been defending the delay -it's been a "work-in-progress" for the last 10 years. I really tried to...

    Nforce audio and PC soundcards!

I just upgraded my computer and it's got the Nforce APU onboard. It's gooooood. Except they had to cripple it by using a Realtek ALC650 for the analog i/o. (45dB SNR) But it's only a $60 mobo, so coaxial & digital S/PDIF output (and Nforce's real-time Dolby Digital encoding) was a bonus...

    Ear conditioning

I've been listening almost exclusively to my MX500 lately, and switched over to other phones. I think I've grown so used to the sound that I don't like the others. Koss KSC35 sound boomy and have veiled mids. HD600 has too much stereo separation and thus too annoying to listen to. V700DJ...

    Cambridge Soundworks PC speakers

Are there any standout speaker systems in Creative's Cambridge Soundworks range? I can't seem to get a good comparison from Creative's website. There are so many models, they should have "Our speakers compared" section outlining major differences. I'm looking for both a 2.1 and 4.1 system...

The best value for money in Australia

Well I think almost everyone here knows that the HP890 are phenomenal value for money here in Australia. But did you know that at they cost only US$15-20 more than the Ozzy street price of a pair of KSC-35? And good luck finding KSC-35. I give them the tktran PRICE/PERFORMANCE CROWN for...

    Double adapter - for headphones

How does adding a double adapter to an headphone extension cable affect the output? I dabble in electronics, but all I can make out is that 2 headphones would mean higher impedance load? And that means...??? Are there high quality double adapters available?

    OT: Portable player as source!?

Has anyone tried hooking up a portable CD player to an amplifier and speakers? Just for fun I connected my Panasonic SL-CT470 portable CD player to a couple of active monitors- the Event 20/20bas and ATC SCM20A, and am getting fantastic results! I didn't realise the SL-CT470 was THIIIIIIIS...

    Sennheiser MX500 - Review

Hello all. I've been frequenting Head-Fi for almost 6 months now. But this is my first review. So go easy on me. Quick summary at the bottom: Aim: To buy pair of cheap earbuds for casual home use and aerobic exercise. For some reason I burn through earphones like no other. So my...

    I like speakers

I think my headphone enthusiasm is diminishing. I mean there still plenty of headphones and headphone amps I haven't auditioned, eg. Ety's, Stax, Orpheus, but headphones just don't do it for me anymore. Speakers -> Headphones -> Speakers... Anyone else go through this phase?
