BOSE IE2 In Ear Headphones
I still like them a month later. For casual listening they are pretty good. More comfortable than the dtx50, e2c, or ex50, and very respectable sonically.- chillk

BOSE IE2 In Ear Headphones
actually quite good. just got these as a gift from the wife. I do not compare these to my ultrasones, grados, or any other high end headphone. But they fit great, and don't need to be jammed into your ear canal. I have shure, beyer, and sony in ears, and I can see myself using these phones more...- chillk

How much do MS-1's change after burn-in?
they change alot after burn in, they are much more mellow sounding after 100+ hours of burn in. I have phones that are more expensive, but the ms-1s are still my favorite, just give it time.- chillk

Beyerdynamic DTX 50
bought these for $27 on an amazon closeout, and I can see why they were that cheap. They are absolutely horrible. I prefer the ex51 or even cheap philips in ears to these. I also bought some koss ktx1pros at the same time, and they blow these things out of the water. The beyers sound muddy and...- chillk

REVIEW: Koss KTXPRO1....an awesome portable headphone!
I bought these because they use the same drivers as the ksc75 which I love, but find uncomfortable. They are really good. For the price you can't go wrong. It's amazing that koss can make such good cheap phones but their big phones leave a lot to be desired. I actually prefer these over the...- chillk

Alessandro Music Series MS1 FAN CLUB!
They are not very good commuter phones. They are not that big but don't fold up very conveniently, and leak big time. At home, I actually like the fact that I can hear outside things, like someone calling me.- chillk

Best Prog Metal Cans for ~$250
x2 on that. In fact re-ripping my entire cd collection to apple lossless made a big difference in sound quality. Rip at the highest bitrate possible, and work your way down if you need the space. That's a big reason I still buy CDs.- chillk

E2Cs suck big time. Buy a pair of ms-1s, sr60s, or 80s for portable use. They are some of the best sounding phones for ipod use, and don't require an amp to sound great. Don't base your amp decision on the e2c.- chillk

Best Prog Metal Cans for ~$250
I know how it is, I was the same way. I listened to various grados through my friends, but had no experience with other phones. I bought the ms-1s because they were supposed to be neutral grados, and I have to say they are awesome. They are probably the one phone I would never get rid of. If you...- chillk

proline 650s arrived...
I was originallly looking at the w1000, but peteham's description of the 550 made me take a chance on the 650. 8th st music has the 650s for $214 shipped, so I decided to go for them over the 550s. So far, so good.- chillk

Grados are pretty efficient, more so than the senns you mentioned. If possible, go audtion the grados and senns, if you haven't already. Our opinions mean nothing really, some love the grado sound like me, and others love the senn sound. If you are moving up the price ladder, you might consider...- chillk

proline 650s arrived...
I received my proline 650s a few hours ago. I know these phones need about 100 hours of burn in, but my first impressions are positive. They aren't as bass heavy as I thought, in fact they sound pretty balanced to my ears. Let's see how they sound in a couple of weeks...- chillk

I can't keep doing this!(rant)
I just started and love this board and headphones. I was content with my e2cs until I found this forum. Now, I have two decent full size headphones, and another on the way. I think I might stop there, but who knows. In the summer, it will be all about rc helicopters and cars, which will take up...- chillk

RS2 vs SR80....Grado hype?
Though limited, I do have some experience with grado cans, owning ms-1s myself, and listening to rs-1s a lot at my friend's house. I have to say that bass was the biggest difference between the rs-1 and the ms-1. I actually liked the top end of the ms-1 better, but the smooth bass response of...- chillk

d5000 vs at w1000
Well I decided to go for the 650s from amazon. Seeing how their prices can change daily, I thought it was too good of a deal to pass up. I will give an update and review once I get them. Thanks for your help.- chillk

That helps alot. I have been casually looking at ultrasones, and amazon has a great deal on proline 650s. I think I might go for it. Do you know how the 650s compare to the 550s?- chillk
