New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
I’m the same way. One pair…no need to keep 2 around. @angelom hope someone takes you up on your offer. It’s a great deal.- Bahnhof Zoo

Side By Side Comparison - AirPods Max, B&O H95, Dali iO-6, B&W PX8, ML 5909, M&D MW75, Focal Bathys and more
The PSB m4u 8 mk 2 are on sale for $249. Plus another 10% off when you sign up for their newsletter. Been eyeing up the espresso brown for a bit and $220 something seems like a no brainer. Supposedly a wider sound than the m4u 9. Think I'm gonna grab a pair and see how they stack up with the...- Bahnhof Zoo

Nice review but I would somewhat disagree on your soundstage assessment. For a closed back it seems very wide to me. I listen to some Dolby remixes and it really shines but even with a good stereo recording to m4 does have a decent width to it.- Bahnhof Zoo

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Hi there! Thanks for all of the info. Were you ever able to get the final word on passive listening for the Apollo? Definitely a biggie for me. Also…would you happen to know how easily replaceable the battery on the Apollo would be if I were to run it down after a few years? Thanks so much...- Bahnhof Zoo

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
That too. I laughed at the Spatial Audio comment. The io-12 (or any good headphone…BT or not) is spatial enough naturally. It doesn’t need a software gimmick.- Bahnhof Zoo

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
This reviewer has gripes, but the wrong gripes in my opinion… https://musictech.com/reviews/consumer/dali-io-12-audiophile-headphones-review/ AptX adaptive and lossless are inaudible to human hearing…so that’s not a con. Plus this reviewer also says they aren’t portable. That’s not necessarily...- Bahnhof Zoo

I agree. Thought that was strange. They’re totally portable. I do agree with everything else she says however. In fact I generally like her headphone reviews.- Bahnhof Zoo

Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless
If you’re listening wired / powered off the headphone DSP is disabled and any preset eq you have saved in the app will not apply because the headphones are turned off. So yes…at first listen, they will sound bad. However…you can (and should) eq separately (Peace, poweramp etc.) to get them to...- Bahnhof Zoo

While I would love to travel abroad at some point in the near future it’s not happening anytime soon unfortunately. Maybe in 2026 for the eclipse. By then who knows… they may be on the next version. lol- Bahnhof Zoo

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
that’s not good press for the Dali…especially for those of us in the US where there’s a $600 difference between the focal and the Dali. I personally wouldn’t buy the focal due to its lack of passive listening. Dali also has an ip rating. But, as always with the Dali, it goes back to the...- Bahnhof Zoo

Side By Side Comparison - AirPods Max, B&O H95, Dali iO-6, B&W PX8, ML 5909, M&D MW75, Focal Bathys and more
Not at all saying that the APM are a bad headphone. To me the momentum is better sq wise (not anc wise of course ). Keep in mind that I'm mostly over Bluetooth, using an android device.- Bahnhof Zoo

Over the AirPods Max? There are a ton of options. Of those that I tried or have…like the others said, Dali are incredible but cost a fortune. Sennheiser momentum 4 are crazy good for the price and crush the APM on sound and battery (not ANC though). I’d probably even opt for the Sony xm5 or even...- Bahnhof Zoo

Dali's Soft Magnetic Composite Driver
This thread prompted me to do a test with a friend of mine today actually. I was playing a song, multiple actually (flac files). Gave my friend my phone and had them flip from SBC to AptX adaptive as I tried to guess which was which. I was trying to pick up on something...high frequency roll...- Bahnhof Zoo

I don’t know that they’re disputing what you are hearing. I think, more so, they are stating that whatever differences you are, in fact, picking up on are for reasons other than codec type.- Bahnhof Zoo

Introducing MOMENTUM 4 Wireless
If it helps…I thought the same so purchased a Dali IO12. ended up returning the Dali and keeping my momentum. Slightly better soundstage and detail wasn’t worth the extra $1000 imo. Momentum put up a serious fight against arguably the best BT cans (sound wise). Also the Dali was a downgrade in...- Bahnhof Zoo

Also because a ML5909, Dali etc (even sennheiser) develop driver technology that other companies can’t / don’t. All about the hardware (and EQ to a certain degree).- Bahnhof Zoo

Look I'm not going to argue with you over which codec is better. What I will say is that I appreciate your appreciation for Bluetooth. I think we can both agree that Bluetooth has come a long way over the last 10 years or so. So much so that I personally do not feel the need to purchase a wired...- Bahnhof Zoo

Why do people prefer push button controls over touch panel?
I seem to be in the minority in that I prefer touch panel over buttons. It’s actually a huge selling point for me. Nowadays touch has gotten so much better not to mention…buttons involve mechanical, moving parts that will eventually break. A touch panel just seems more conducive to longevity of...- Bahnhof Zoo

Adaptive is a better all around codec. LDAC is older and less nimble. Not really sure what the issue is. Not to mention, LDAC wouldn’t change anything with regard to sound on the IO-12. They would sound exactly the same.- Bahnhof Zoo

Honestly I don’t notice any difference and the headband doesn’t really move on me. They sound great to me no matter where the headband is. Maybe try using a silicone headband cover to help keep it in place?- Bahnhof Zoo
