The voice volume slider is called "volume of tones". I guess it's called that way because I presume it controls call ringing, but I don't use my BTR15 for calls, so I can't tell. Anyway, you can lower/mute the voice with this slider.

There's hope regarding the gain issue. I just checked Fiio's forum, and they've finally been able to reproduce the issue. I just noticed sofastreamer was the one who reported the issue there. Thanks! This is Fiio's reply: I guess we'll just have to wait for the new firmware release.
