NEW Schiit Lyr 2: Impressions
Yes, I am still going through the Denon amp. I have yet to use the Lyr preamp in low gain mode as some have suggested to increase the sound quality. Also, I bought the Lyr 2 and used it with the trusty little Pico DAC with a moderate increase in sound quality, it wasn't until I got the Bitfrost...- meusickfrek

NEW Schiit Lyr 2: Impressions
If you are on the fence about buying a Lyr 2, the preamp function is definitely something to take into consideration. I have a set of monitor audio Silver 6 speakers with 120 RMS watts per speaker and 91 db sensitivity powered by a Denon 1910 receiver with 90 watts RMS/channel. Yes a modest...- meusickfrek

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Mine do have the gold pins and diamonds as well and like a poster said previously, they appear to be improving, at least up to the 200+ hrs i've had them. The last things to improve were the bass and sound stage, I'm so happy with them I have stopped the burn in process.- meusickfrek

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
I ordered my pair of NOS Telefunken E88CC from Upscale Audio one month ago and the size looks identical to yours. I burned them in for 200 hours and they sound great, if you can't tell a difference in the sound just listen to the music and enjoy.- meusickfrek

NEW Schiit Lyr 2: Impressions
So my stock GE tubes finally opened up and wow. This is my first experience with an amp that uses tubes and they really make my HD600s come alive and soon two new sets of tubes are coming my way, can't wait to hear the difference. With a solid state amp the music comes form an X,Y axes, with...- meusickfrek

Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread
Just for the record, I broke the Dunu through a careless act. I dropped a heavy item with them in my hand, they got tangles and came apart. I do not think they are less well made than any other IEM of their type.- meusickfrek

Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread
I've been using the DN1000 with the DX50 but was a little disappointed with the bass, there was a lack of tightness and texture. My first IEM was the Atrios thus I was spoiled by that wonderful sounding bass. Anyway, I hooked the DN1000's to a desk top amp and now the bass is much tighter and...- meusickfrek

NEW Schiit Lyr 2: Impressions
Sounds like a great pair of tubes Jamato. I just bout the Lyr 2, which is my first amp with tubes, can you or anyone suggest a good set of tubes for HD600, something that will liven them up and bring out some bass? I like to hear bass texture, and real sounding music with a great sound stage...- meusickfrek

Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread
Ya, when I said small ear canals I meant very small so after cutting down the smalls I actually do get a great fit and that spacious sound is back. Thanks for the suggestion, I just really wanted the silicon tips to work so I wouldn't have to keep replacing them. The foam tips are a little...- meusickfrek

Dunu DN-1000 - Dunu's hybrid IEM - Impressions thread
I commented a while back on some of my fit issues but I have very small ear canals thus figured this was the problem. The only way I can get them to stay in is without spacers, with spacers the IEM simply falls out of my ear and leaves the tip and spacer in my ear and yes I have lost spacers. ...- meusickfrek

Listening to the Pico DAC I thought wow, Justin's only job was to make the Pico sound good. over the last few FW updates it appears that Ibasso was more concerned with stability, do you think this is their first attempt at improved sound or just dumb luck, they have been fairly mute on anything...- meusickfrek

Yes, I was comparing the Pico DAC to the dx50 and definitely the bass was much less tight on the DX50 along with some loss in transparency and texture. This update is definitely an improvement, and I hear more kick drum on my Dunu dn1000s. Liking this update very much.- meusickfrek

I used the dx50 in my van with a modest Kenwood system (Burr Brown dac, 300w sub/amp, 500w amp, 10 inch sub, volume maxed), the difference was obvious, the sound had a better sound stage and imaging and the bass tightened up a lot, a definite improvement. In my GF cheep jeep system still an...- meusickfrek

A description of a single sound signature may have limited use but a description of all signatures with definitions of the terminology used to describe the sound would be more useful as this would be a comparative sample. Ibasso would be able to describe the sound relative to the last or...- meusickfrek
