so i just picked up a pair of the ultrasone Hifi 780's... when i'm portable do i need an amp for these when i sue them for my iphone 4s or ipad??? if so any recommendations- jervid

ok..i've ruled out the M50's as i hear too many mixed reviews about these ..i've now thrown in the mix the HD25-1 II...so i'm now wondering if the HD25-1 II are good for rock/ metal?? if if i spent the extra money for the HD25-1 II do i need an amp for those?? or do i stick with the ultrasone...- jervid

the Senn HD25's would have been on of the original choices just out of my price range...tks for the tip on the ESW9's....if i get the M50's i believe they have a coiled version which is shorter the the long straight corded version....tks for the suggestions- jervid
