New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
Firstly, to avoid false expectations, aptX Adaptive doesn't do automatic selection as you described above. Here's excerpt from Creative BT-W5 product page: But don't be too excited about LL - many headphones around struggle to work in that mode (incl. IO-12). Secondly, SSC is technically very...- streetbeat

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters
I experienced similar issues when plugged my BT-W5 into a docking station connected to work laptop. Interestingly, it works just fine with my home laptop through same docking station.- streetbeat

New Bose Ultra Open Earbuds
Got a question about sound volume. By the looks of it, the actual dynamic is fairly distant from ear canal. Do you have to crank the volume up for nice sound at home? And what about sound leakage by the way? *** Here in NL Bose has return period of 90 days. And the price currently is 290 Euro...- streetbeat

New Bose Ultra Open Earbuds
Sounds really interesting. Though I even didn't bother to watch reviews on these before thinking this is a lucklaster, I'll probably monitor prices in order to check it myself. Thanks mate :beerchug:- streetbeat

Here's a nice comparison with few other open-ears, with call samples. What I strongly agree with Andy is that starting price tag is hard to justify.- streetbeat

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters
Does FMA 120 remember multiple devices and is the app required to switch between devices? Also, where to buy that dongle in Europe? (Official site refers to some N-Consulting as their distributor, but actual product link gives 404 error.)- streetbeat

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
Should you be thinking about review of BUOE, I'd be very interested to read that. Got sad experience with a number of open-ears, e.g. Oladance, OpenRock, where - keeping comfort aside - bass(esp. sub-bass) performance was a big issue. Couldn't even think Bose attempt could be good :)- streetbeat

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion
Yes, my point was that one should use what's convenient to them. Headphone tuning is much, much more important than any codec. Hopefully you'll find your sound with Px8 :) Speaking of codecs, I personally find aptX Adaptive great. However not because of its hi-res part, but rather a noticeably...- streetbeat

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion
I would say that it's unlikely you'll benefit from aptX HD. But why believe a random stranger when you can do a quick test yourself using you current equipment (hopefully a pair of decent wired headphones). Here's the test...- streetbeat

Short cable for Sennheiser HD 599
So, here's final result I'm really happy with. All comfort of HD 599 with almost unnoticeable BT extension. Being unexperienced in dealing with custom cable orders, my expectations were a bit different from what I got at first attempt. However Hart Audio were generous (shall I say "magnanimous"...- streetbeat

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
Beware that if iO-12 are connected via USB-C to your portable device, they will suck energy out of it until fully charged. I think that kind of connection was done with desktop/shelf devices in mind, where battery is not part of equation.- streetbeat

Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4
Like on MTW4 with AntiWind enabled, the wind disappears, for real. It's queter than in passive mode (ANC off) when mic holes still catch some wind. For M4s (as well as MTW4 with regular ANC) it's always some wind noise coming in.- streetbeat

Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4
Had an outside walk through the windy day here in Netherlands today. I don't know what kind of magic Sennheiser people did, but oh boy how great Anti Wind mode is! It was able to completely eliminate absolute most of the wind gusts, so I could enjoy the music alone. Comparing to their bigger...- streetbeat

Yes, wrong, because usually that statement used in the context of bassy headphones being better for all music. It just happens such people prefer bassy genres over others :)- streetbeat

Sure, better have that option than not :) Actually, that's where M4s battery performance shine. I did a test once: starting from Monday used them solely for work and private time, and only by Saturday midday they reached 5% mark. Incredible!- streetbeat

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
I have experience with BTD 600 and BT-W5 only. Both use color indicator for that purpose. BT-W5 goes with a companion desktop app, where modes can be chosen (see below). But curious users discovered that HQ/LL mode could be changed by triple pressing the device button, that is very handy I must...- streetbeat

New Dali iO-12 ANC Headphones – Impressions Thread
Totally understood. If I had to choose only one pair, that would probably be M4 as most versatile, balanced option. Can't see myself going out with iO-12 on head. Seems T+A Solitaire T tick all the checks, but I don't consider it due to ugly design to my taste.- streetbeat

Yes, that's the same kind of issue you experienced with your UGREEN dongle. When iO-12 are connected to BT-W5, the dongle selects aptX Adaptive codec. As you may know, Adaptive has two flavors - high quality and low latency. HQ is chosen by default, and iO-12 work great in this mode. But once I...- streetbeat

Happy to hear you liked them. Agree on your points, there's no linear justification of iO-12 to be absolutely better than M4s if one enjoys the latter. I do keep both - well, actually more :) - because 1) I like different sound signatures so all my collection is on regular rotation, 2) my music...- streetbeat
